“Lunch was not as good as dinner”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

Went for lunch today with two others. I always have liked this place when I've come for dinner, but lunch- not so much.

Service was not too good. Never got coffee refill until ready to leave & the waiter seemed either new or unskilled and unfamiliar with the menu.

My burger was ordered well-done and came out like a hockey puck. The fries were good and the others liked like their chowder and turkey burger.

The other thing - I got a bud light draft because it came with my lunch- it was awful - I can still taste a metallic taste.

“Unexpected Pleasure”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

We actually found this restaurant because my son had a high school "country report" on Germany due. Because it was over the Christmas/New Year's break, we took the entire family and had a great time. The kids had fun trying authentic German dishes as well as lots of menu options allowing them to fall back on American favorites. Our server, who's name unfortunately we can't remember, was outstanding.

“Interesting pub”
Reviewed December 31, 2012

Ate here a couple of times while in Boston. They ended up having my favorite Clam Chowder of all the restaurants we tried along with a great selection of beer. The other dishes we tried were good as well, not fantastic but it is a pub after all. The building itself is worth a visit, and the staff were very friendly if a little disorganized.

For German food this is about as good as it gets in Boston. The Sauerbraten can't be beat. The atmosphers is not the best, but the location in Theatre District makes it an ideal place to go before or after some entertainment.

“One of the few German restaurants around.”
Reviewed December 21, 2012

Jacob Wirths is one of those venerable places that never seems to change. It was a fun place to visit and drink a lot of beer. Beer und Wurst Ja Ja Ja!
