We stopped by for the first time while visiting Charlestown. We went during the middle of the week for dinner and drinks so there were no crowds, just neighborhood people. Nice relaxed ambiance, 3 TV screens (sports, of course), friendly wait staff and pretty good food with ample portions (though on the expensive side for basic American food).

They have a decent selection of local brews (both draft and bottled).

NOTE: Not open for lunch!

We ate here twice during our stay, once for lunch on the patio and another time for dinner on a Friday night. Food was excellent and a variety of menu choices beyond the average sports bar.
Waitresses were all friendly and quick to refill beverages. More locals than tourists so a nice change.

We were staying a short walk away and were directed here by our landlord for dinner on our first night in Boston. The place was so easy-going and the food so good that we ate here a number of times in our short stay in Boston. It's open late too - which we found is something of a rarity in the US, which was very welcome. Lots of screens showing sports, but not too noisy or crowded. There's a nice outdoor area too.

Once we walked across the Charleston Bridge we followed one of the local's recommendation to have lunch here, and we were not disappointed! There were 3 of us and we each ordered a different flavor of soup - all 3 were delicious. Nice spot for lunch and a cold beer as we headed back out to the Trail.

Ordered a bowl of clam chowder and there was no flavor or any apparent clams in it! They sh
Pould have just called it potato soup. I searched around in the bowl and found a few tiny slivers of clams that were smaller than a rice grain. Should have complained but we were too tired to bring it up. The garden salad was just fine though.
