“Worth the wait”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 5, 2012

We have been wanting to try Rino's since seeing it on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives, and finally made it there last night. It was well worth the wait! Literally - even arriving at 5:30 p.m. on a Tuesday, we waited over 90 min for a table. But we were prepared, and the food and service made it worthwhile. My son pronounced his lobster ravioli the best dish he'd ever had, and my (vegetarian) daughter and I both loved the pumpkin ravioli appetizer we shared and the gnocci pasta course. My husband's asparagus/goat cheese/balsamic appetizer was amazing. The Italian bread and salads that preceded the meal were average at best, but we weren't there for those.
The restaurant is small (seats about 45), hence the typical 1- to 2-hour waits. It is also quite loud, esp if there's a large party (there were 2 last night). But the wait staff and regular patrons create a friendly, upbeat vibe that complements the outstanding food. We will go there again.

“Worth the trip!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2012

We visited Rino's the Friday after Thanksgiving. We thought they opened at 11am, but that day is was 3pm (I will call first next time). We went to Kelly's Pub down the street to wait for an hour and got in line at 2:30pm. After a quick 30 minute wait, we were 2nd to be seated.

This was the best meal I have had in Boston, PERIOD.

Best Calamari I have EVER eaten.

My daughter has the lobster ravioli which she loved.

I had the Rino's Special which was amazing.

My husband had the frutte del mar with lobster which he loved.

Reasonable bottle of Pinot Noir and we were in heaven.

Soo glad we came, and I will return. BTW: we had great and friendly service!

“Best Italian In Boston”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 14, 2012

We eat here quite often. Never ever a bad meal. I'd say once every 3 weeks, it's that good. Everything from the Arrancini's to the The Rino's specials are off the chart. If your lucky enough to get a seat make sure you get leftovers.

“Rino's Place and the bar across the street”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 8, 2012

First, dont go if you dont have reservations unless you are very patient. Rino's is small and very popular for good reason. If you come in without a reservation, they will probably take your name, tell you how many parties are in front of you but refuse to give you a time estimate. Instead they will kindly take your cell number and refer you to the little bar across the street for a beer.

Now, that bar happens to be owned by the same family and has good food there too ... we had a great Italian appetizer there. But it took about an hour and a half before we were called to walk back across the street for our table.

But back to Rino's, if you are looking for authentic Italian homemade food this place delivers on all counts. Our party of 3 had varied choices and we all were more than satisfied.

The only thing we found frustrating was our waitress refused to make any recommendations, simply stating everything was great. As it turned out, everything was great but we really needed a little coaching for our first visit.
