The daily catch was the best fish restaurant I've visited in Boston. I visited the the Seaport location, not the North End one. All we ordered was exquisite, and the service was excellent. Would definitely recommend and will for sure come back in the future.

First the establishment:
This is an extremely small place. It seemed to only have seating for only about 25 people or so. We saw several groups of 5 that had to wait a while to get seated. We were a party of 2 and were asked to share our table. Might want to consider another place if you have a group larger than 4. Also it was a warm evening, with the kitchen in the seating area it was extremely warm. Might want to consider only going when the weather is cool.

The food:
I had the swordfish with a sundried tomato reduction - EXCELLENT. $25 Came with a salad or a simple pasta dish. I had the pasta. Very good. My wife had the pasta primavera. Large portion $16

Overall - We really enjoyed the food. Excellent service - good value.

It's a very small place that I suspect is a favorite with locals. I arrived on a Thursday afternoon about 1:30 p.m. and waited about 30 minutes to be seated as there was a line for the mere 18 seats inside. The busboy pointed me to a table that had been sitting empty the whole time I was waiting in line. It took another 30 minutes for the only waitress to even acknowledge me and take my order, while she attended to people who were seated after I was and were eating before I even placed my order. The food was good but I probably wouldn't go back based on the service. You will probably get better service if you're not there solo. It's cash only, for the record.

The restaurant might seat 20 people. That's why you see a line down the sidewalk waiting for a table. Is it worth hopping in line? You bet!! Delicious pasta with fresh seafood.

It was my first visit to the Hanover area with my family. I had an Italian sub at a deli and desserts at Mike's pastries and was getting great experiences. Then I started looking for a place to have dinner and found the Daily Catch . I looked at the reviews that was at yelp which was my first mistakes since it all had 4 1/2 stars out of five. It was a small restaurant would only maybe 5 to 6 tables . There was a line out the door during dinner as with all the Italian restaurants in the area. After patiently waiting we got seated and we were squeezed on a long table with another party of four already having dinner . It was also right behind the open kitchen where single cook was doing all the sauteeing right behind us . My main complaint was the waiter/manager after we only ordered three family-style dishes worth already $100 told us we had to order more since it was a small restaurant. There was only the cook and the dishwasher and the waiter/manager working . I'm not used to having a waiter pushing and complaining that I have not ordered enough dishes and reasoning behind it because they need more sales . I'm aware of upselling items but this was ridicliuos .The menu was already over price since pasta dishes with no meat at all was already $24 . But any comparable restaurant that serves family style the servings was twice as much and with a seafood or meat items with it .The pasta dishes were served in the sautee pans they were cooked in. The pasta dishes were OK but nothing great for the prices being charge. The bread serve was cold and was not freshly made . Being in the restaurant business for over 35 years in all management positions in front of the house and back of the house I thought I would never fall into a tourist trap. I guess there's always a first time and last time I will ever visit this restaurant .
