“Our Favorite Restaurant in Boston”
Reviewed December 20, 2007

Whenever my husband and I visit Boston, the trip includes a fabulous dinner at Giacomo's. The first time we ate there we were with friends from Texas (who now sigh when we tell them we're going!) and just happened upon it by accident. We went inside to look at the menu and all the patrons told us we had to stay, it's the best place in the North End, and that they were all regulars. That was four years ago. We feel like "regulars" now, too, and will wait in line, telling anyone who pauses at the door that they have to eat here. Some helpful information: You'll have to be in the North End by at least 4:30, because you're going to have to find a parking spot. Arrive at the restaurant at 4:45 (they open the door at 5:00) and wait in the doorway. Before you've had time to put your napkin in your lap there will be a line at the door 20 deep. Sit with your back to the window so that you can enjoy your meal...otherwise you'll feel guilty about those people waiting for your seat. Don't forget to bring cash - they don't take credit cards. Enjoy your meal, it is worth the wait! I highly recommend the Butternut Squash Ravioli - it melts in your mouth.
