“Good food, lousy service”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

My husband and I went to Boston for the day and wanted some italian food. With so many to choose from, we just popped in to the Villa Francesca and sat down for lunch. The menu was kind of limited and the place seemed almost ghost town (should've known after this), the food we got was very good! But the service was really awful. Short, terse, waiters and little attention paid to the guests (what few were in there). They just seemed as if they could care less about being there, or serving people. I probably wouldn't return, the food was delicious (french baguette with tuna and prosciutto), but with so many amazing restaurants to choose from, why settle? I would recommend moving on down the line and checking out some other hot spots for grub in this busy city.

“Never,Never, Never Again”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

This was one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had. The staff from begining to end were just plain rude. Food was poor and way over priced. I find find it hard to believe the food was cooked to order when it came out in five minutes. It looked and tasted like it was mass produced ahead of time. The waiter watched us the whole time as if he couldn't wait to get us out the door so he could get next group in. Wine list was way over priced and nothing special. All this place wants is your money and to get you out the door as fast as they can. We were a party of four and everyone felt the same way. With all the great places close buy we will never eat here again.

“Dang fine custard!”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

The spaghetti noodles were cooked to perfection, pesto sauce was pretty good, the meat sauce was fairly average. But, the custard for dessert was absolutely amazing!

“Not impressed”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

Large place with only 2 (literally) bathrooms (Men and Woman). Food was OK but nothing to write home about. We were seated (10 of us) downstairs in the basement, which to me it seems like a fire trap since the only exit is going up the steps. We asked for a cold and a hot antipasto to share around. The waiter brought back two small plates of cold antipasto with not enough food to go around. Main course was also not impressive, three of us ordered the lobster and it did not have much taste. Few dishes were fine as far as the other member of the pary. Service, although attentive it was not up to par as it seems the waiter did not know what he was doing. Overall not great and would not recommend.

“With so much to choose from why come back?”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

This was disappointing from valet to exit. Promised valet service only to find on a Saturday night there garage was full and would have to go down the street. We were finally led to a table there we eight of us(in the basement) and they made another family get up after having seated them, so we could sit down,..most uncomfortable. No one seemed to care or notice we (and others) were inconvenienced. Food was just ok nothing outstanding for the price. Shortly after my nephew sat down, after finally finding a place to park, and the pipes overhead were leaking down his neck...not to worry we'll just put a napkin up there. ugggg! With lots of excitement on the North End why come back.
