This was one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had. The staff from begining to end were just plain rude. Food was poor and way over priced. I find find it hard to believe the food was cooked to order when it came out in five minutes. It looked and tasted like it was mass produced ahead of time. The waiter watched us the whole time as if he couldn't wait to get us out the door so he could get next group in. Wine list was way over priced and nothing special. All this place wants is your money and to get you out the door as fast as they can. We were a party of four and everyone felt the same way. With all the great places close buy we will never eat here again.

The spaghetti noodles were cooked to perfection, pesto sauce was pretty good, the meat sauce was fairly average. But, the custard for dessert was absolutely amazing!

Large place with only 2 (literally) bathrooms (Men and Woman). Food was OK but nothing to write home about. We were seated (10 of us) downstairs in the basement, which to me it seems like a fire trap since the only exit is going up the steps. We asked for a cold and a hot antipasto to share around. The waiter brought back two small plates of cold antipasto with not enough food to go around. Main course was also not impressive, three of us ordered the lobster and it did not have much taste. Few dishes were fine as far as the other member of the pary. Service, although attentive it was not up to par as it seems the waiter did not know what he was doing. Overall not great and would not recommend.

This was disappointing from valet to exit. Promised valet service only to find on a Saturday night there garage was full and would have to go down the street. We were finally led to a table there we eight of us(in the basement) and they made another family get up after having seated them, so we could sit down,..most uncomfortable. No one seemed to care or notice we (and others) were inconvenienced. Food was just ok nothing outstanding for the price. Shortly after my nephew sat down, after finally finding a place to park, and the pipes overhead were leaking down his neck...not to worry we'll just put a napkin up there. ugggg! With lots of excitement on the North End why come back.

It is with great sadness that I must report our experience while dining at once-famous Restorante Villa Francesca there in the North End of Boston. We first dined there in the late 80s and have returned there each time we visited Boston over the past quarter century. Unfortunately this most recent visit will be our last. First the bottom line: There are no Italian chefs/cooks working in the kitchen - so the food is no longer authentic. I was alerted during my encounter with our waiter who was very pleasant but with a very unfamiliar accent. Turns out he was from Honduras. That caused me to become more observant and here’s what I found: I looked around at the entire wait staff and also closely observed the people in the kitchen preparing the food. I then asked our waiter if there were any Italians either on the wait staff or in the kitchen and he graciously told me “no”. So we must conclude that the fine country chefs and cooks from Italy are sadly gone. Unfortunately the veal was not of the best quality which sealed the deal. The end of an era has arrived and we will not return.
