We stopped at the Florentine Café one evening as we had finished exploring the Freedom Trail - we absolutely loved the ambiance - we were fortunate to be seated at one of the tables by an open window overlooking the street. It was perfect. We really enjoyed the food as well and overall it was just a great experience. We tried Eggplant & Mozzarella Carrozza as an appetizer - very good. And I ordered Filetto di Manzo al' Balsamico - very nice! It was the perfect place to just sit and soak in the North End atmosphere.

This is a definite must visit if you enjoy well prepared Italian food served in a rustic Italian atmosphere. Wait staff is excellent, attentive but not overbearing. During warm weather, the dining room is open to the outside. A great place to have a before dinner drink, a wonderfully prepared antipasti and watch those walking Hanover street taking in the sights of Boston.

Our meal consisted of a Caprese salad prepared with red & yellow tomatoes with fresh mozzarella, basil & olives drizzled with a balsamic vinegar & extra virgin olive oil dressing. Absolutely scrumptious!

My main course was Tubettoni Genovese. An absolutely delightful dish consisting of tubettoni pasta tossed in olive oil with garlic, clams, shrimp, parsley & half lobster tail in a spicy tomato sauce. The seafood was fresh and the tomato sauce had just the right amount of spices.

My wife had Spinach Ravioli. It consisted of Ravioli filled with spinach, nutmeg , parmesan and ricotta cheese, tossed with butternut squash & sherry wine cream sauce. The dish was topped with parmesan cheese. I was able to taste the dish and next time visiting the North End, will definitely order this.

The restaurant looks nice and is in a great location but unfortunately, it ends there. My suggestion - take a walk off Main Street and try one of the smaller places in the back streets!

High on atmosphere, average on food. Though a little pricey, the service and ambience made it a pleasant experience.

We were famished, and tired from walking The Freedom Trail. Saw some empty seats at the bar in Florentine, so we popped in. We had hoped for some authentic Italian food. Sadly, it was pretty bland, no flavor, and didn't seem to be much more than your average Cisco food. Definitely better options.
