“Perfect to start or finish.....”

A special night out. The place ambience is great! The staff are very attentive with perfect suggestions and great descriptions on wine and cheeses. Their tartar is delicate and flavorful. Their 10 years port exquisite and wine wonderful. I love the place.

“For Meat and Wine Lovers Only”
Reviewed December 12, 2013

Want something different than the standard Boston fair? Want some place that's upscale, but intimate and relaxed? Most importantly, DO YOU LIKE MEAT? If so, you HAVE to try this place. Their charcuterie, cheese and wine selections are unmatched, and the quality always excellent. If you're a newbie to the "fine meats and wine" scene, the servers as knowledgeable and happy to help answer all your questions. In fact, I like asking them about menu items just to hear how about the process of curing meat or crafting a fine cheese.

“Butcher Shop rocks”
Reviewed December 3, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

Went on 11/21. Had no reservation. Tight little place. Food & wine both excellent. Went across the street to B&G for a drink while we waited for our table. Got called quickly, sat at the bar and had a great hanger steak and a Meritage. Yummm! Will def return.

“Great charcuterie”

Shared a couple orders of the charcuterie platters with friends for lunch. Perfect with beer. Great, knowledgeable service. Also, a good cup of coffee.

“A great wine and small plate option”
Reviewed November 4, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

Before a dinner in the North End, my friend and I decided to stop in for a glass of wine and a couple of small plates. We were shown to a place at the bar, and a great bartender was very prompt. After telling him what we liked, he gave spot-on recommendations about small plate and wine pairings that would be to our liking. We had a very enjoyable pre-dinner snack and libation.

Tip: Try the Parmesan. While I typically do not eat cheese by itself, the offered Parmesan cheese was fantastic.

Also, don't be afraid to sit at the bar. It is a lively small space and the bar gives you a great perch to watch all the action.
