“One of our favorites in Boston”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 16, 2014

Once again, Metropolis was excellent. One of our favorites in Boston when dining in the South End, we went for dinner with friends and enjoyed ourselves. Service was friendly and attentive. The chicken soup was shared by all of us. The duck breast special and the veal entrees were outstanding. My risotto was very good, but too salty for my taste. The desserts were excellent.
We'll be back again.

“Great Neighborhood Spot”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 31, 2013

We love this little neighborhood restaurant, one of our favorites. The food is always good and the service is always great. They tend to change the menu a bit every season and everything is always good and fresh.

Having lived in Washington DC (the capital of brunches), I consider myself a brunch snob. While Boston has plenty of choices for Saturday or Sunday brunch, only a few stand out. And Metropolis is my all-time favorite brunch place, for two reasons. First, they have the most insanely delicious pancakes on earth. It's like freakin' cake batter. The smell alone will make your pupils dilate with insatiable need. Second, the ambiance is perfect – it's small, cozy and has a clearly local vibe.

“Dependably delicious”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 20, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

It's a small restaurant in the South End that we visit once a year or so, and the food is always outstanding. My wife's endive salad and swordfish entree were simply delicious. My veal scallopini was too, but the standout was the cauliflower leek gratin. Her remark as we left was to the effect that we've never had a less than outstanding meal here.

“Try something new”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

I've walked by Metropolis for years, but never stopped in. I hadn't heard anything good or bad about it so I was indifferent and never motivated to try it. A few weeks ago we found ourselves passing by and decided to stop in for dinner. Three of us each had different apps and entrees and all were met with rave reviews. The atomosphere is cosy without being cramped or loud. The service was perfect - friendly, knowledgable and attentive, but without hovering.
