“Mildly distasteful”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

A tiny, overcrowded Italian restaurant with a very expensive menu, we were seated jammed up to a drink cooler. The waiter was inattentive, rather surly, and inefficient. The food was served unattractively and was not that good. The wines were Italian (yes, it is an Italian restaurant), not that good and quite expensive.

“A Boston Gem”
Reviewed July 28, 2013 via mobile

Our extended family of 14 made a trip to Boston and we ate here upon the recommendation of my brother in law. We were not disappointed. Each of us had a different dish and no one disappointed. Out of fourteen people. Amazing. I had the tortellini in cream sauce and prosciutto. Excellent. It was served in the pan that it was cooked in. I also had a side order of meatballs and they were just like mama made (I'm 100% Italian descent). The service was amazing. I'd go back to this gem in the north end of Boston in a heartbeat.

“It's all about the food”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

The service varies from OK to borderline rude. The washrooms are next to the kitchen, which is right in the tiny dining room. The place is cramped and noisy. And yet... the food is so insanely good that it more than makes up for those inconveniences. Try the lasagna, or the homemade rigatoni with four different kinds of meat - which you eat straight out of the pan. Unbelievable.

“A true gem”
Reviewed July 20, 2013

Visited this excellent last week. Had the special...pasta with scallops and lobster in a spicy red sauce. It was a delicious meal that I enjoyed in the garden patio area. The only down side was the unprecedented heat wave Boston was experiencing making the patio quite warm. Some cold beer and the delicious meal made it all better.

“Classic and Timeless”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

We've been coming here off and on for well over a decade. The menu never disappoints. The specials are truly fresh. It used to command a line every night so we arrived early. Fortunately we got seats in the lower level which we love because it's much cooler on a hot summer's night.

Friendly Italian-speaking staff all enjoying themselves while serving great traditional seafood, chops, gnocchi, and all manner of pastas.

No desserts but not a problem with so many pastry shops nearby.
