“Very good seafood dinner”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 22, 2013

Location - in Prudential Center - is somewhat sterile, but food is very good as was the service. Spicy calamari appetizer was excellent; fried clams and fisherman's platter main courses were also very good. No complaints, food was really good and fresh and well prepared (e.g., calamari not rubbery at all). Enjoyed Legal Sea Foods enough to try nearby Copley Place location - also excellent, with nicer decor/views.

“Disappointed”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 17, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

I have to say that location location location is so important. At this location at the Seaport.....it felt rushed that they wanted us in and out as soon as possible. My shrimp cocktail was blah. My haddock was blah. And my mother's chowder was blah. Prefer the location at Copley. NOT Prudential!

“Consistently Good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 13, 2013

When in Boston, I try to stop at Legal Sea Food. There's no surprises here, just tasty food.

On this visit, our server was AMAZING. She anticipated our needs, condiments, water, a second beer, and was pleasant and efficient.

The chowder, Caesar salad, and fish and chips were all fresh and tasty.

It was a busy Saturday afternoon with Thanksgiving shoppers, but we were seated right away and served promptly. It was, however, TOO loud. Music, loud patrons, and kitchen noise. We weren't looking for intimate, so it was okay, but just WAY TOO loud.

I have NEVER had a poor meal here.

“Nothing Fishy about this”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 12, 2013

This is one of a chain which is well known in Boston. Provides a basic selection of seafood dishes in comfortable family-restaurant type setting. There's a kids menu and they're pretty accommodating of children. I have found this chain to be non-remarkable in terms of food quality. But it's predictable in that the menu is consistent across the branches. So, if you're not up for using your imagination then this isn't a bad choice.

“Dispointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 1, 2013

My wife and I were visiting Boston over Thanksgiving and we read several positive reviews for this restaurant. We were excited but ended up dissatisfied. We started with an appetizer of mussels which was fine, but just soon after our meal was delivered. We asked that it be taken back and returned after we finished the appetizer. It was, but the fish was luke warm. We sent it back, just to have it returned again only warm. We sent it back again and it finally returned hot. No, I am sorry or anything. The crab cakes were fine but by that time we were not happy campers.
