It was Restauarant Week and we thought we would try something different. Have never tried Persian food so thought would give it a try. Very interesting menu for choice. Service was excellent. Very impressed with dinner and good value for money. Interesting layout of the restaurant you don't realise exactly how big it is!

Lala Rokh is a feast for the senses.

The atmosphere is incredibly relaxing. The decor is muted and the restaurant is quiet.

Our first visit to Lala Rokh was in 2003 and we've been back on every visit to Boston.

Our entrees on our recent trip included Beef with Eggplant and Saffron Rice and Roast Lamb and Ground Lamb with vegetables. They were perfectly prepared and served and the entire experience was as pleasant as others in the last decade.

There is a fairly extensive wine list and full bar.

Restaurant is located off a residential street in Boston’s Beacon Hill neighborhood. A group of us ladies (11 in total) decided to try a new culinary adventure – Persian food. We were not disappointed. Since we had a large group, we had some options – a private dining room and a fixe price menu. The menu included appetizers and side dishes served family style. We had a choice of four entrees – beef, dark chicken, boneless leg of lam, and fish of the day. Many of the foods are cooked in spices such as cinnamon, cumin, mint, etc. It was a great tasting experience. If you have a large group, make reservations ahead of time with management and all reservations need to be confirmed at least 24 hours in advanced. A place and experience not to be missed.

I went to Lala Rokh with my girlfriend. The ambience in the restaurant was confortable, and the service was efficient and nice. Unfortunately, the food was just OK. As an appetizer I had some mushrooms that I think were coming from a can. As entrees, lamb was good but not exceptional and the chicken was just acceptable. As a dessert I had an ice cream with saffron flavor that was original and nice.
I think that the food was overpriced and the wine very overpriced.
I do not think I will be returning there soon.

This is a small out of the way place on Mount Vernon St. We liked almost everything we got. I would not recommend bringing a picky eater here as the menu is pretty small. Anyone not willing to experiment would not enjoy this.
