The PIattini has a very nice terrace at Newbury Street. The food was very good - try the lobster ravioli and the shrimp tagliatelle. The waiter was very attentive.

My wife and I stopped by here for a few drinks and an appie. Ordered 2 beers and some calamari. After 10 minutes of waiting for our beers, we asked the 3 servers who were standing around chatting and apparently they couldn't help us. 5 minutes later our calamari showed up. We finished that then finally after 20 minutes and after we'd eaten our bread and calamari, our 2 beers show up and the biggest joke was they were bottles of beer and were just sitting in a fridge inside. Left our server a 12 cent tip and headed off, never to come back to this sorry excuse of a restaurant.

We went to Piattini on a Saturday night and even though it was crowded we were seated outside and received excellent service. We ordered four of their small plates and everything we ordered was excellent. We also ordered two desserts which were really good too. Overall, it was a little pricey, but you definitely got what you paid for!
When I am Boston next, I would definitely try it again!

The generally praising reviews are a bit of a puzzle to us. This place is ok, good bread and olive oil (usually a very good indicator of what is to come) but the food and wine were very average and not particularly good value. Service was reasonably good but not exceptional. Wouldn't eat here again.

three people got the scallop dish and loved it. I got the homemade pasta and it was outstanding. Considering it is on Newbury Street, the pricing was quite reasonable. We were able to eat outside and it was lovely. Good food, attentive service, huge wine selection by the glass and excellent people watching all at the same time!!! Oh yes, the bread is so delicious. We were all very happy and would definitely return.
