That is if you are two of the same gender, as in female gender ! This small and quaint restaurant was recommended by both the hotel we stayed at and by a Bostonian friend who is a regular. A short walk from the hotel, my 75-yr old mother and I strolled in the area on a lovely Tuesday evening, until our scheduled reservation (courtesy of hotel). The hostess proceeded to seat us at a small table for 2, in the back, closest to the kitchen …, when 3 larger tables were readily available. The couples already dining were seated at these larger tables which in fact seat 4. Most disappointing to note that the following couples (yes, man & woman) were each seated on the remaining prime tables (of 4 !). Two of those did not have a reservation.
A shame this detrimental and petty attitude prevails at Terramia as the cuisine is authentic and its tiramisu absolutely heavenly. Why do women have such a bad rap in restaurants ? I am often reprimanded to leave too much of a tip. Am I the exception to the rule?
