I really enjoyed having dinner at Hamersley's a few weeks ago. The service was absolutely great - friendly (without being intrusive), quick (but not dismissive), attentive and efficient. It's not cheap, but the food is really good and worth the expense.

The place has a great atmosphere - warm but not overwhelming. It's a busy place (deservedly), so there were lots of other diners there, enjoying good food and conversation, but it was never noisy, stifling or unpleasant.

As for the food, I thoroughly enjoyed the olives (my starter) and roast chicken (main course). Everything was cooked and presented beautifully, and tasted great. Several of the colleagues I dined with had (and loved) the seafood paella, and one of them had the salmon, which he also loved.

Highly recommended restaurant.

Had brunch 5/30th and enjoyed it very much. They try to create a nice atmosphere outside (not much to see on that portion of the street). Service was very good. Food was VERY good. Had the asparagus salad (didn't expect it to be as tasty - gotta love the aioli) & daughter had the burger. We were both pleased. They're serving some good rose from Provence this summer.... Now if Boston wasn't so humid... Although we ate outside, the interior looked sophisticated...

I recently attended a conference in Boston, and ate at some of the best restaurants in town. This one topped them all. Everyone in our party agreed the food was excellent. I had a delicious duck confit as an appetizer and succulent scallops (4 on the plate) for dinner. The staff was very pleasant and knowledgeable, and handled our large party efficiently and with good cheer. We sat outside and they rearranged several small round tables to accommodate us.

This place is romantic even though very busy. Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. we did not feel the prices were out of line as others have indicated. I had the chicken and my husband had duck, both were great.

I come here for one dish, and one dish only....Roast Chicken...
It is the best you will ever have..
It is NOT cheap, but so worth it...
Service is wonderful....
Roast Chicken is one of the best dishes in the world when it is done this well...
Go in, order just the Roast Chicken and a glass of wine, and you will still be able to
pay the rent....
Order more than that, (and everything is good here), and I cannot promise anything financially.
I either visit and order the above recommendation or I go knowing that my bill will be a bit high, and order a salad, dessert, and martinis....Depends on how much you want to spend...This is a great restaurant, but again, not for the financially timid...
