“Very pricey, but loved the food, service and atmosphere!”
Reviewed May 1, 2011

Visited as a reward for finishing the Boston Marathon; it was a great treat! Despite the waiting area being packed full, we had reservations for 7pm and walked right in at 7pm. I love and very much respect that kind of service.
Food was definitely very expensive; food was very good, but if you're looking for value, there are other places you should visit. As a special occasion place, it fit the bill. 3 of us had different kinds/cuts of steak, one of us had the lamb--all of us absolutely loved the food.

“Overpriced mediocrity”
Reviewed April 28, 2011

When a $40 filet mignon is mediocre (at best) and your specialty is steak, there's little to recommend.

Basic food was unexceptionally prepared. The service was uninspired and the atmosphere is loud (even with the front of the restaurant open for outdoor service). The one outstanding dish was the apple pie. Wow. A $350 tab, with no wine selected, for four people and about 10 drinks.

Even If you don't care about money this is a waste.

“Excellent food and service!”
Reviewed April 25, 2011

I went to Abe and Louie's and even though Boston is a seafood place it was the best dinning experience we had in the 8 days we were in boston. The File mignon was cook to perfection it was a huge portion and as tender it could be. The mac and cheese side is a must. The service was superb!

“fantastic!”
Reviewed April 24, 2011

We wandered in here when it was too windy and rainy to go anywhere else. It was a Friday night and we had no reservation. We also had my 9 year old son in tow. The host was very gracious and gave us a table right away. Our waiter, Jeffrey, was incredible and steered us toward a great "family style" dinner. Everything was wonderful. I would recommend this place to anyone.

“Fantastic restaurant, the best steak I have ever eaten.”
Reviewed April 17, 2011

Arrived in Boston on Friday night. We went to Abe and Louie's without a reservation. They welcomed us and were able to squeeze us in upstairs. The decor was really good. We were shown to our table by the most helpful waiter ever - Kenny. We said we couldn't eat huge portions, so Kenny told us we could share. We had crab cake and jumbo shrimp to start. I ate the crab cake and it was heavenly. My husband loved his shrimp, which was also great. The steak we shared (New York Prime) was melt in the mouth staff - the best ever. We also shared a Cobb Salad which was also great. The wine was a good price and nothing was too much for the staff. The total bill was $180 including service. We went to other restaurants during our stay which cost more and were not a touch on Abes. Go and treat yourself to Abe's - you won't be disappointed
