“Magnifico!”

Maggiano's is such a wonderful dining experience! My favorite thing to see when i walk in are the tables of large families, young and old, eating together, laughing together and sharing their love of food and of one another! And oh the food...you cannot go wrong with any dish. I start with a glass of J. Lohr Cabernet and calamari with marinara sauce, then slide over to the Mushroom Ravioli with Braised Veal or the Chicken & Spinach Manicotti. Since i don't eat dessert, its another glass of J. Lohr and i'm telling you, i want for nothing! The restaurant is so beautiful with the dark wood and perfectly balanced lighting. All this makes for such a satisfying evening that is always well worth the drive up to Boston! I'm going again this weekend!!

“Bring a BIG appetite!”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

One of our party ordered a take-away lunch from this restaurant and was so impressed with the food that we all went back there for Dinner! Expect a very busy, popular establishment - you may have a short wait if, like us, you arrive on a Friday night without a reservation. The restaurant is genuinely Italian owned and run, and it shows in the food and the vibe. The portions are enormous, so be warned! The waitress told us that many customers take home half of their meal so that they can manage to fit in a dessert! The prices were good and the service was great.

“Great Service and great food”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

My friends and I had theater tickets and chose Maggiano's for dinner first. The traffic was a night mare and it was raining very hard. Two of us arrived after 6:00 for our 5:30 reservation. We explained to the waiter our predicament. He too had arrived late for work for the same reasons. He was SOOOO acommodating trying to expedite our dinner. Our meals arrived soon and we were seated before the curtain went up. Our regrets were that we did not have time for dessert or to really enjoy the delicious meals that were served to us. The food is always good here and the prices are reasonable for a city restaurant. Thus, make a reservation since it is always busy!

“Yummy meal that doesn't break the bank”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

This is a big chain restaurant, but the food is quite good, and EXTREMELY reasonably priced. It was quite busy when we when, but we had reservations and were seated immediately. Service was brusque but good and quick. The portions are definitely generous. Desserts are HUge. Tried the tiramisu, which was pretty good. The chocolate cake looked amazing. Would definitely recommend this.

“Food is excellent, but the service is even better”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

This has been one of those places that I’ve always passed, but never tried out because of its touristy feel, and the fact that it was a chain restaurant. It turns out I was only hurting myself with such snobbishness. From the amazing Fried zucchini appetizer (with a lemon aioli that can only be divined from heaven itself) to the collection of desserts (of which we tried more than any reasonable person should have tried at that point in the meal), this Italian restaurant offers both delicious food, and super-friendly and courteous service, even on a busy Saturday night. In fact, it’s the latter that made our meal there so memorable and enjoyable.

Along with an opening salvo of a brilliant bottle of Chianti, we began with the aforementioned zucchini – sliced lengthwise and perfectly breaded to crisp perfection. With such ample proportions, this was designed to be shared – and even then we brought some home because it was that good.

I opted for the lobster carbonara dish, rich with the succulent seafood, over a bed of fresh snow peas and powerfully-flavored pasta – the sauce of which was both creamy and light, shot through with the pungent punch of its smoky accents.

A dessert tray of several selections somehow ended up at our table, and when presented with something like that I never say no, even if my stomach protests for fear of bursting. A little tiramisu, so tantalizingly dusted with cocoa, a mini crème brulee just asking to have its shiny sugary surface shattered, and some chocolate-covered mint truffles were all just too much – and too good not to try.

As mentioned, it was the supreme service that set this place apart from so many restaurants, and that made all the difference. With food this decent, they wouldn’t need to try half so hard – but the fact that they do puts them into another level entirely.
