An excellent choice for high quality cuisine with impeccable service. A good choice on the menu between entrees and higher quality a la carte items. The atmosphere is very lively, however, the tables are very close together and they constantly rearrange them. And it is very loud so it is best for a large group, not the best place for a romantic quiet evening.

My sister and I have been going to Grill 23 for many years now. We live in the Boston area, so when we have a chance to go out, we always pick the Grill. Well, NOT too good this time.....I asked for my steak to come out "Medium", and it came back TWICE...."MOOING"......I would think every chef who works at a steak house knows the difference between.....Medium and Rare?????? Please try to pay attention to what the customer asks for!!! Service was Awesome....we sat upstairs at the Bar, and had a great time. Matt and Chris were very attentive and professional, and oh they make great drinks!!!!

best place if you really are a meat lover, different cut of meat, excellently cooked,
staff is friendly and very efficient, classic and nice the internal decor, a bit loud
but it is part of the entertainment to look the waitress running around the the meat
be prepared in the visible kitchen (no worries there is not smell at all!) . definitely
pricy, but of course you need to pay for the good things.

The restaurant is your typical modern steakhouse look. Nice and busy bar and pleasant dining area. Service was courteous but not overly friendly not to say that they were rude in any way. Appetizers and desert were excellent. Steak were good but on the salty side for both my wife and I. Wine list is extensive and prices were fair.

Although their thick, juicy steaks are on a par with other high-end steakhouses (I had the dry aged 14oz NY Strip), the real star is the enviable 54-page wine list. Where else could you do a LaFitte Rothschild vertical on any given Tuesday? Of course, you may need to bring your credit references if you are planning to go for the top-end wines. In fairness, if a $1,250.00 bottle not going to do it for you, Grill 23 does offer a short list of wines under $30. Avoid their clam chowder, however. At $11.00 a bowl, mine was half-filled, cool, watery and mostly full of potatoes. As far as atmosphere, there is a lively upscale bar crowd downstairs. For a more intimate setting, opt for a table in the quieter upstairs level. The service is surprisingly hit-and-miss and falls somewhere between robotic and ambivalent. Surprising for a place with a-la-carte beef entrees that top out at over $50.00.
