“Unexpectedly available table....”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 9, 2013 via mobile

Had dinner here tonight with two friends. We decided on the Brasserie because of a friend's favoring this spot at the Colonnade Hotel. Great impromptu dinner included the standard Duck Confit with crispy skin and smokey taste over lentils, short ribs, and special veal short ribs, accompanied by a hearty cabernet on the special list.
Tasty food for a cool rainy spring night, lots of flavors, great service. Prices are standard for Back Bay dining.

“Good but not as good as I expected”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 9, 2013

Just a quick review but we were really looking forward to eating at Brasserie Jo after reading the reviews. It was a good meal with no complaints but we felt a little expensive for what it was. No complaints but nothing exceptional or enough to make us return.

Loved every bite of everything ordered. Flavors delicate and varied, ingredients fresh. everything freshly prepared and served with style, class, and friendliness. Window seats offer people-watching along Huntington and views o the Pru. You cannot go wrong here.

“Scallops Yummy and Great Dessert”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

Second time in town for a college visit and our second visit at the restaurant. I love scallops and they were great both times, as was this incredible ice cream dessert that comes complete with tons of hot chocolate!

“Good not great”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

Tries to come off as a French brasserie and does a good enough job. Food is good, but not great. A little pricey for what they serve. Service is good. Noise level is acceptable. This visit was for dinner. I have had brunch there in years past and that was very good.
