“Excellent, both creative and delicious”
Reviewed December 1, 2012

Held group business dinner in semi-private room space on first floor with about 10 people. The food was excellent. The group ordered a broad range of appetizers and entrees. All said there dinners were uniquely good with interesting flavor mixes. I had the chicken entree which was surprisingly delectable. This was a group that eats out a lot and they were struck by how the meal stood out relative to other experiences (in fact the previous night we hosted a similar group at Trade in Boston, and the food at Troquet was far superior). Also, the wine recommendation was spot on. The semi-private space was set out of the flow and away from other table. The meal was not inexpensive, but was a good value. It worked out well all around.

We went to Boston to celebrate our anniversary. We planned on spending 6 days there so we made a reservation in a different restaurant every night. We loved the restaurant the we tried on our first night. The second night, we chose Le Troquet and that was unfortunately a bad idea. The restaurant was quite pricey so I expected the service to match. The service staff failed at every turn. From the person who brought us bread and cleared the bread crumbs to the serve and maitre d', none offered the level of service, politeness and graciousness that I expect from an up-scale restaurant. They seemed to have been transported from a more casual establishment. I must say that the food did not disappoint. It was good, perhaps even very good but the poor service made the meal less than enjoyable. We will not be back. The wine selection was long but a bit expensive. I felt like a number since they had a paper on every glass that reminded you of the number which corresponded to your wine selection. Not impressive!

“Perfect pre-theater restaurant”
Reviewed November 13, 2012

Close to the theater district, most within a couple of blocks of the restaurant. When you arrive, they ask if you have a show to get to - service staff pay close attention to make sure you're not sitting around waiting for drinks or courses.

Food was pretty good. Well prepared and presented. Though I must confess, as a pescatarian I don't know why restaurants insist on adding meat to the fish dishes. Made for only one entre to go with, but no complaints on the quality. Decent wine list, fairly priced.

If I was heading for another show, it would definitely be on my list to visit again.

“A little hidden gem!”
Reviewed October 14, 2012

A table overlooking the park, quiet, yet welcoming ambiance, imaginative food without pretention, great wine selection. A little gem! We had originally reserved a No. 9 based on TripAdvisor ratings and were very disappointed by the reception received upon walking in, as well as the ambiance. Our standards are high, and Troquet did not disappoint. For those who like intimate settings and authentic french 'cuisine du marche', you'll enjoy this restaurant.

“The light as a cloud coconut souffle says it all. This restaurant is a gem!!”

Consistently good. Each appetizer (recommend the tuna and the Foie Gras) was awesome. Husband had the delicious halibut and I had the beef. Each bite delectable. Always one of our "go to" restaurants when visiting Boston.
