People associate Boston with seafood, but one of the city's dirty secrets is that the best-known seafood restaurants (Legal Seafood, Skipjack's, Union Oyster House, No Name) are mediocre at best.

Atlantic Fish bucks the trend, serving consistently outstanding seafood. Have eaten there a half a dozen times with family and friends, and everyone from kids to hard-core foodies have raved. The San Francisco Cioppino and Pan-Seared Sea Bass are particular favorites.

Yes it is crowded, and not cheap, but the food is terrific.

We decided to have supper at Atlantic Fish Company based on recommendations from tripadvisor. We were definitively not disappointment. I had the clam chowder and its was amazing. my friend had a goat cheese salad and was having an orgasim next to me :). My main of florida sword fish was a bit dry but ok. I enjoyed the fact that we decided to sit at the bar and had enough space to eat and drink. The bar tender gave us excellent service. Any downside, its best to make a reservation as they get quite busy.

We were very confident when we entered the restaurant. Recommended by our hotel ... And by Trip advisor! So no risk ... But ! First of all you have the feeling to be in a factory: crowded, noisy, have to wait for the second service ... And little bit pressed to leave the table ... To get the next customer in. And for the food: I had a sole ... Fresh yes ... But tasteless ... And for the rest of the family nobody really ecstatic. And at the end pricy. So no.... Not recommended

Best extra dirty martini I have EVER had. What a great start to the night. We got to the restaurant and it was packed, however we were taken to the bar and quite happy to wait, even though it was only 5mins or so. We had some starters to share including three different varieties of oysters that were super, super fresh and divine. Also the little wrapped scallops were perfection. We ordered different mains and each were sensational. My colleagues surf & turf was sublime, and the other's seafood soup equally so. I had an amazing lobster stuffed with crab with yummy melted dipping butter. I have never had anything like it. Our waiter was delightful and expertly cracked open my lobster so it was a breeze to eat. Despite being so full we couldn't resist dessert - dipping into each others to be sure each was as good as the other. Was a fabulous meal!

Atlantic Fish was our first dinner date in Boston and proved to be an excellent choice. It began to POUR rain just as we crossed Boylston so tip #1 is to remember an umbrella! Tip #2 is to make a reservation via 'Open Table' a few weeks before your arrival. Our table, up front near the windows away from the traffic areas, was prefect. Couples that arrived without a reservation had quite a wait and the few that took an outside street table suffered through wind, cold and some rain. The food and presentation is excellent. I would recommend the crab cakes and halibut, but any item on the fresh catch of the day would be worthy of consideration. The bisque is also top shelf heavenly. The wait staff was professional, and the waiter even showed us pix of his newborn child. A most pleasant evening, and the rain stopped just in time for us to stroll back to the B&B.
