“Great soup and affordable”

I always order the same thing at this place... tofu/vegetarian pho. It's always good and very reasonably priced.

“Great for Solo”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

Pho Pasteur is a great for solo travelers. Service is swift, the food is fantastic and a real value. You won't be the only single in the restaurant either, there are always other solos dining.

“Large portions, variable taste”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

We went here to catch up with a friend who had been to another branch but not this one.

The portions were generous, the pancake starter was a meal in itself and the pho was in large bowls with lots of bean-sprouts, but fundamentally the stock was a bit bland and lifeless. It wasn't the best pho, it wasn't the worst...and for the price it was great value for where it is.

Would be good for a group outing

“Avoid the pasteurised phở at Pho Pasteur”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2013

Excellent corner location, generous portions and low prices make this place extremely popular with Bostonians. Shrewd observers will notice that Asian (and especially Vietnamese) customers usually have rice or vermicelli (aka bún or bee hoon) dishes, while non-Asians prefer the traditional phở. This is because the 'dry' dishes (roasted quails, etc) are quite yummy, while the phở is truly mediocre. The broth is bland and requires a lot of flavoring. The salads can also be given a miss, for the nước mắm dressing lacks sweetness and authencity.

“Excellent Food/Excellent Value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2013

We found this highly-rated restaurant terrific for us; we're vegetarians. It deserves its popularity. It's in Chinatown, which is downtown Boston. Easy to find.
