Description: The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods - really fresh fish. Enjoy ocean-side dining just steps from the New England Aquarium. Our restaurant couldn't be more convenient to the Financial District, Freedom Trail, Faneuil Hall and waterfront hotels. We think a visit to Boston must include a meal at Legal Sea Foods. Legal Sea Foods has long proven that a consistent, high quality dining experience never goes out of style. With over 40 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish available throughout the year as well as an award-winning wine list, there's no doubt why legions of fans have fallen hook, line and sinker. We've received a boatload of accolades including "Most Popular Boston Restaurant" (Zagat, 2011/2012), "Best Seafood Restaurant" (Improper Bostonian, 2010), "Best Chowder" (Boston Magazine, 2010), "Best Seafood Restaurant" (Boston Phoenix, 2009) and the honor of serving our legendary New England Clam Chowder at every presidential inauguration since 1981.

“Good seafood you can count on”

Legal seafood is all over Boston and enjoyed this eatery with the family on a recent visit. The Clam Chowder was quite good, the Greek Salad was plenty and tasty, Fish & Chips were light and not heavily battered as in a lot of places and the Shrimp & Garlic was outstanding. The Assorted Mixed Grill was a little bland for me but tasted better when they brought some sauces on the side. Recommend making a reservation here. We sat by the bar and seems to be a popular hangout.

“Last Meal in Boston”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2014

After eating Italian for four nights in a row we went to Legal SeaFood for a change. This was a big Restaurant where I felt I got lost in the masses. Too much great service in the small Restaurants. There food was good, as a sea Food restaurant should be everything was cook great. Once again I would not have a problem returning

“Great Food and Service near Many Attractions”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2014

Walked out of the Aquarium looking for lunch and Legal was right there. No wait, sat at the oyster bar and had two types of raw oysters and a bucket of steamers, all excellent. The service was friendly and attentive. When you sit at the bar you're facing the food prep area. All looked fabulous. Can't wait to get back for more.

We truly enjoyed the food and service here at Legal Seafood. The lobster, jalapeño polenta and seaweed salad I had were delicious.

“Recommended, and Recommending”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2014

We ate at Legal just after a duck tour at sunset on a weekday. There was at least 20 minutes before we could be seated, which was done efficiently. We got a small table with a lovely view of the aquarium. The place is medium sized and the tables are packed in tight (did I mention the 20-minute wait?) Our server was attentive and quick. Their clam chowder had been recommended by 2 of my coworkers back in Las Vegas. Even though I'm not a clam chowder fan, I might become one if other place's chowder was on the quality level as Legal. Both of our dishes were excellent. If we get back to Boston, we will return.
