Description: The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods - really fresh fish. Enjoy ocean-side dining just steps from the New England Aquarium. Our restaurant couldn't be more convenient to the Financial District, Freedom Trail, Faneuil Hall and waterfront hotels. We think a visit to Boston must include a meal at Legal Sea Foods. Legal Sea Foods has long proven that a consistent, high quality dining experience never goes out of style. With over 40 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish available throughout the year as well as an award-winning wine list, there's no doubt why legions of fans have fallen hook, line and sinker. We've received a boatload of accolades including "Most Popular Boston Restaurant" (Zagat, 2011/2012), "Best Seafood Restaurant" (Improper Bostonian, 2010), "Best Chowder" (Boston Magazine, 2010), "Best Seafood Restaurant" (Boston Phoenix, 2009) and the honor of serving our legendary New England Clam Chowder at every presidential inauguration since 1981.

“Perfect Meal, Great Service, Top Location”

Right on Long Wharf in downtown Boston. This is a center of tourist activities. Our group chose an outside sidewalk table. We were served by Lilly and she did an outstanding job. No problem with drinks and appetizers for the first hour, follow by dinner. We all selected different entrees and they were all perfect. I think it would be safe to say everything on the menu will be perfect. Then drinks after dinner. In all, just a perfect evening in downtown Boston.

“Okay for Tourist”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2013

I'm from a fishing family and have always had fresh seafood. With that being said, this review comes from someone who hails from the number one seaport in the US. Our friends flew in from OR and picked the restaurant based on the fact that they needed Gluten Free options. Legal takes their food allergies seriously, we were told by our waitress. That was of great comfort to our friends. I made a reservation about five days prior. It was definitely needed as the restaurant was packed. I found the restaurant to be very noisy and so hectic. i guess that is to be expected. The waitress started us out with warms rolls. They were small and only one per person. Our friends who needed gluten free were served rolls that fitted their needs. My son and I each had fish and chips. The portions were small and while the fish was delicious, the overall meal for the price (16.95) was lacking. My husband had scrod served with white rice and spinach. He said his meal was delicious. I'm just wondering why they would serve white rice? Our friends had a gluten free seafood platter and some sort of mussel dish with white rice. They loved it and that's all that matters. My meal wasn't horrible by any means. I just know I can get much better. I felt like this is a place for tourists because no local would pay some of their prices. For example they had a 1 to 1.5 pound lobster on the menu for $44.95. Lobsters are currently selling at the supermarket for $3.99 a pound. Another entree was over $50.00. That's not some place I will frequent but nice spot of Long Wharf.

“Outa Sight!”

Walking distance from Harborside Inn where we were staying, a an attentive and friendly waiter, and reasonable service time. The highlight of our anniversary meal was the biggest lobster on the menu. What a treat!

“Worth a visit”

The price of the food is high but is worth it. A late night visit without reservation and the staff was accomodating. They show that they care.I would go back anytime.
