Description: Barking Crab is a landmark Boston seafood restaurant celebrating our fifteenth season. Located on the Fort Point Channel in Boston's Seaport District, The Barking Crab features fresh crabs, lobsters, and day-boat fish brought in each morning. We feature traditional New England fare served in a funky urban clam-shack setting. We have a full bar including over 15 regional micro brews, cocktails, and an approachable value-priced wine list. We are family friendly and a short 2 minute walk from the Boston Children's Museum. Other area attractions include the Institute of Contemporary Art, Harpoon Brewery, the Harbor-walk, Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, and Boston's Financial District.

Went here on a recomendation from a Boston local. We were after lobster and we sure go it here!

Its a short taxi ride from downtown and looks a little run down. The decor is dated and a little kitshe but is to be expected. The service is excellent, our server was very helpful and very honest about her suggestions which we appreicated! She helped us work out how much to order and worked out what we would like

Between three we orderd fried clams, clam chowder, crab cakes and crab dip to share. All were excellent, particulary the crab dishes. Definately order the crab dip. To die for!

Ended up ordering three lobsters for three people (got the hot pot, think that was the name, came with two sides) which also came with shrimp and clams. The clams were a bit average (lots of shell but not many clams) but could not complain as the lobster was AMAZING!

Be prepared to get messy when eating the lobster! It isnt the cheapest place but lobster doesnt come cheaply either. Mixture of patrons including a hens night, tourists, family dinners, couples and friends having a night out. Appeals to lots of people! The food was fresh and it was definately an experience! I would recommend people coming here as the food was great, service good and it is a fun thing to do especially if you havent had the "bib and lobster" experience!

If you are looking for white tablecloths, don't go here.

If you want great seafood (the lobster, crab, and chowder were awesome), in a relaxed, bar-like atmosphere - vist the Barking Crab. It's a bare bones, excellent eatery.

You can experience long waits for a table and parking at the restaurant is scarce (you can pay for parking at nearby lots), but it is my family's favorite place to eat in Boston.

I cisited the barking crab in the winter time during a business travel. This place is situated at the water and isn´t cheap but it had a great bar like atmosphere and the seafood was awesome. The waiters very very busy but also very friendly. A nice place to have a decent seafood meal.

Great menu if you like seafood with enough options for the non seafood lover. It is cool funky kind of place so if you are looking for white table cloths keep walking. My daughter raved about the lobster bisque, though I really wouldn't get the single crab for $11 there was not enough meat to even fill up a tablespoon.

Winter visit, seated in front of window with huge crack and the great outdoors blowing in. We asked for a different seat and got it, but no one should even be seated in a spot so shoddy.
