“Mostly excellent hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2012

The hotel is in a nice location, next to the U.S.S. Constitution. The staff are very friendly and accomodating, and the rooms are very comfortable - full kitchen, modern furnishings, plush bed. Free internet is a +, and the breakfast was excellent - quality, wholesome food. My only complaint was $35.00 per day for parking is a bit steep, and the "Manager's Reception" at night - usually a pretty nice meal at a Residence - was nothing to write home about. "BBQ Night" was boiled hot dogs and chips, "Italian Night" was Swedish Meatballs, etc. They could improve on the quality of the food during the evening receptions. Other than that, though, I would recommend staying at this hotel, it's a 9 out of 10 in my book.

We stayed on the third floor of this pet friendly hotel. The staff was found to be polite and helpful, the hotel, clean,, quiet and secure. Our suite was furnished nicely and in good shape. The kitchen had a full size fridge with auto ice maker, small dishwasher, two burner ceramic cooktop and quartz counter top. Our room gave us a nice view of the marina and the USS Constitution. Room came with a free breakfast, the usual inclusive food, high calorie high carb. I passed on that. The location of this hotel was great. Close to freedom trail, subway, shuttle buses and the USS Constitution. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: get an east side room, gives you a beautiful sunrise in the morning.

Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) stayed here for 4 nights in late August 2012, in a 2 bedroom overlooking the harbor. It is a nice clean typical Residence Inn. We like this location for exploring Boston as a tourist: You can easily walk to the North transit Station for the T. You can walk to downtown or walk the freedom trail all over downtown. You can take the transit ferry between Long Wharf (Aquarium) and Charlestown Navy Yard (close to Constitution Ship, a few minutes walk to the hotel).
The indoor pool is very small, but it is OK for little kids.
The free breakfast was very good everyday. Plenty of choice, so you are likely to find something you like.

Room Tip: Book a 2 bedroom (if needed) well in advance because there are not many 2 bedrooms available.

I am long overdue in writing this review. I have stayed at this hotel on many occasions while I am in the Boston area. I work in the hotel industry so I know what is to be expected. This hotel does a wonderful job maintaining their property. The staff is always very friendly and accomadating. I would recommend to anyone. Keep up the good work!

We stayed here for a week, and we were very pleased with the hotel.
Positives were:
- Spacious, clean, comfortable room with kitchenette, including fridge, freezer & dishwasher
- Friendly helpful staff
- Lots of parking available
- Located in a nice, quiet, safe area
- Really convenient for TD Gardens if you're going to a Bruins game
- Easy walk to some of the Freedom Trail sites
- Easy to catch a bus into downtown Boston from nearby bus stop, regular service
- Breakfast buffet was good and never seemed to run out, even when really busy (there's cereal, bagels/toast, pastries, fruit, yoghurts, a waffle station and different hot breakfast foods each day. You can take your breakfast back up to your room to eat if you like (we saw a few folks coming down in their PJs to do that)
- There's a good little business centre where you can get online, and print stuff (eg for your flight)
- They have a mini-market in the lobby with groceries and beer etc to take up to your room. They'll also place an order for you at the local food store (a few blocks away) to be delivered to your room

Negatives
- The city's underground trains don't go as far as the hotel, and its a pretty long walk into downtown Boston, so you really need buses or taxis for that
- Breakfast is all served in plastic plates and bowls.
- We didn't notice many restaurants in the local area, and the hotel didn't seem to serve much by way of lunch or dinner

Overall, we highly recommend it.

My Family of five just spent 4 nights at the Residence Inn on Tudor Wharf during a very hectic vacation week. They hotel was crowded with vacation families. I marveled at the front desk people as they are asked the same questions by guests all day long. They take the time to make you feel comfortable while you are visiting the Boston area. Breakfasts here are much better then what you usually get at a Residence Inn. The rooms are very clean. The elevators are fast and spacious. The valet parking is quick. Boston is not an easy town to drive in and if you are OK with walking or public transportation, you should let go of your car. After one day I dropped our car off at the airport and took a cab back ($25.00). Overall, a very good stay!

You can walk to the North End and have a great meal. Quincy Market and Fanueil Hall are nearby. We did the 2 day bus tour and traveled through MIT and Harvard. The buses run frequently and the drivers are loaded with stories about area history. We had a great time and would return in a heartbeat.

It was wonderful to read your review, especially your very last sentence stating that you would return to the Residence Inn by Marriott Boston Harbor on Tudor Wharf in a heartbeat! We're always proud when a guest expresses how much they enjoyed their stay and we're truly appreciative of the great detail you've provided for our future guests. It's wonderful that you and your family were able to explore so much during your four-night stay and it was our absolute pleasure to accommodate you. As you pointed out, there are plenty of public transportation options, including the T and the ferry, located right near our hotel so driving is never a requirement when exploring the area! Thank you for taking the time to share your glowing review and we look forward to welcoming you back.

We had a very good room. It had a kitchen and sitting area separate from the bedroom. We had a king sized bed with a small bathroom area. The location is very close to Little Italy--across the bridge and Bunker Hill. We would stay there again.

Room Tip: Get a room with a separate sitting area.
