This hotel is one of the nicest in the city. Within walking distance of Fenway Park and situated in Kenmore Square. The staff is very accommodating, and the rooms are top notch. When you stay there eat at the restaurant in the hotel, you will not find a bad item on the menu.

This was my 2nd stay at Hotel Commonwealth, and I had another enjoyable visit. From the smiling faces of the front desk staff to the spotless oversized room, this is definitely one of my favorite hotels in the US. The location is perfect for those of us with students at BU, and its location just steps away from the T makes it ideal. The Eastern Standard restaurant is superb and cocktails at the Island Creek Oyster bar were wonderful. Kudos to the marvelous staff for maintaining such an elegant hotel. Counting the days until I return!

A last minute booking with booking.com secured a nice room at a reasonable price. The hotel is in good shape and the rooms are spacious and well equipped. The reception is on the first floor and the entry layout is thus rather odd. The overnight parking is ridiculously expensive at $42 per night and far higher than New York. The solution is to park in a street at the back of the hotel for nothing, but remember to get to the car before the parking inspector at 8am the next morning. I was a few minutes late and got a ticket, but as the parking inspector told me, his $26 parking ticket was still cheaper than the $42 overnight charge. The hotel is not in an area of Boston that suited me for what I wanted to do, but not only did it rate number one on Tripadvisor when I booked, but the oyster bar restaurant in the hotel was remarkably also voted number one in Boston by Tripadvisor. My daughter and I ate there and the meal was fabulous- very tasty and good value. Our waitress Jill was the best waitress I have ever had.

The location was great, just steps away from the "T" stop. A short walk from Newberry Street and many other places of interest. I can't say enough about the staff, everyone was awesome! The front desk staff were friendly always had a smile and called me by my name! Everyone was very accommodating. My travel companion is on a special diet, and a microwave and fridge for were provided in the room in a short moment (and a Kuerig coffee pot with lots of coffee and tea pods with all the necessary accompaniments for me).
The Fenway room was awesome! We were able to observe the park and all the fans milling about in the stands as there were several games during our stay. The room was always clean with fresh linen daily and plenty of fresh towels and personal supplies even down to Q-tips and cotton balls! The concierge Samuel was very helpful booking side trips and mapping out walking/T directions for us. The hotel sent us a lovely bottle of wine and chocolates on our arrival, such a nice touch! One day we decided to stay in and watch a video (quite exhausted from the prior day) Samuel, the concierge sent us a bottle of red wine and a huge bowl of popcorn. All-in-all it was a lovely stay and when in Boston I will always return to the Hotel Commonwealth!!!♥

Room Tip: The Fenway rooms have 2 queen beds and a great view of the historic Fenway Stadium. Call ahead for...

Great location for BU. The service and friendliness was exceptional. Valet had our car to the front entrance very quickly. No coffee maker but room service showed up at the selected time with coffee. The only thing that I wish would change is the overnight price for parking. But, with that said, most Boston parking is expensive. Since we were in Boston for our daughter's Freshmen Orientation at BU, we will most likely be staying at this hotel for the next four years.
