“Excellent place to stay”

Although not quite as close to the center of Boston as I had thought, the hotel was wonderful. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful; I had to stay another day and they were most accommodating. The breakfast was delicious too. I was surprised at how quiet the hotel was despite being near the Interstate.

Room Tip: If you love the Red Sox, ask for a view of Fenway-

Our experience was wonderful from the moment we pulled to the curb until the time our car ws brought to us and we were assisted on our way. The accommodations for the price was well worth the visit. We'll be coming back, for sure.

Attended a business meeting at the hotel including an overnight stay. Right at Kenmore Square. We walked to Fenway Park for a Sox game in the evening. Rooms were nice and spacious. Service was very good. Staff friendly and helpful. And you cannot beat the location.

Ok, so I stayed for 3 days in October 2006, not 2011.
I'm now addicted to Egyptian cotton and I blame this hotel! The beds and the linen in this hotel is heaven. I've never slept better.
I'm also addicted to L'occitane products, which is also something I picked up at Commonwealth Hotel. The bath products and the amenities are excellent.
The little cookie-thingy on my pillow the first night wasn't bad either.
It's a little expensive, but it's worth it. If I were to only stay at one really good hotel again, I would choose this place.

We chose this hotel because it was within walking distance to Boston University. The hotel itself has been completely refurnished and is in wonderful shape. I love the Frette linens on the beds. The in-house bath products are made by Fresh, one of my favorite bath products. I left some clothes in the room after I checked out and the hotel sent them back to me at my home. There are two restaurants on the premises. The Island Creek Oyster Bar was really a hit for the evening...many varieties of fresh oysters and great clam chowder. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and brought us six varieties of oysters. Everything he told us about the flavors of the oysters was correct! A very fun culinary experience. Eastern Standard was very tasty for breakfast. The morning coffee bar serves a delicious Illy coffee.

Our stay at Hotel Commonwealth was absolutely wonderful in all respects. The hotel staff was attentive, professional, friendly & helpful. The service we received from the hotel staff was absolutely first class. The staff always greated us by name & with a smile & responded to all requests for assistance promptly & professionally. They did everything they could to insure that our stay at the hotel was a wonderful experience & they succeeded with flying colors.

We had two Fenway Rooms which were absolutely wonderful. We were in Boston for the weekend to go to a couple Red Sox games & being able to sit our rooms & look out at Fenway Park only enhanced our overall baseball experience. For any baseball fan, young or old, it is an absolute treat & thrill to be able to sit in your hotel room & look out at Fenway Park. The fact that the hotel is a five minute walk to Fenway made going to the games incredibly easy & a wonderful experience. The hotel is also within walking distance to the great restaurants & stores on Newbury Street. That being said, the two restaurants in the hotel, Eastern Standard & Island Creek Oyster Bar, are both great. We ate at Eastern Standard this trip & at Island Creek Oyster Bar during our prior visit.

The rooms at the hotel are large & very clean & comfortable. The water presure in the showers is great!

All in all, our experience at the Hotel Commonwealth could not have been any better. The accommodations & amenities were great, but the staff was even better. An absolutey first rate operation in all respects. We cannot wait for our next visit.
