“Don't bother...”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

We went to the Interjational Car nshow, last weekend in Boston... and pasrked across the street from The Whiskey Priest and thought it looked like a fun place to go before leaving town. WHAT A MISTAKE!!!!!

When we entered, we were not greeted, there ws a girl at the hostess stand, but she looked at us and did not say a word. We then walked into the bar, which did not have any seats available, but we saw seats in the restaurant areas. We proceeded back to the hostess stand where a man was now standing, (we thought it may have been the manager, by the way he was dressed), and he aske3d if we had been helped. When we replied, "no"... he did not say a word, and walke4d away. The hostess came back and again, did not aknowledge us, and we prodeeded to ask her for a table... she walked us into a little room. The table was not level and the mica was coming off. The sesrver could not have been more bored with hr job... first thing she said was, 'are you going to order?"... we asked dfor a drink and menu's... it took 25 minutes to get a bottle of beer. When she dropped it off, she started to walk away when we said that we also wanted to order food. When we asked anything about the menu she said, "yea, its pretty good, but I've never had it". So we ordered the ruben. She never came back to see if we wanted another drink or even to check to see if we had gotten our food, which we actually wanted to order something additional, but could jot find her, anywhere.

A runner delivered our food, and did not aks if we wanted anyting else...he just put the plates down and walked away, when we tried to get his attention to ask for ketsup and a napkin, he continued to walk away. When I walked up to him and asked, we never received it and our server NEVER came back to the table, to see how everytjing was, to ask if we wanted another beverage, nothing..... . When we finally asked for our check, she delievered it and again, never came back...

The place looks nice but is poorly run and the service is absolutely terrible. The reuben was skinny and the coleslaw had no flavor. I will never go back, sadly... as I love irish pubs and bars... the owner's need to call the secret shopper guy on the Food Network....

This was a very disappointing end to a wonderfully fun day.

fun bar with good crowd.
im not sure that new buildings should try and make themselves look old.
food would be passable after several drinks, otherwise eat elsewhere as its fried kids food!

“Great Time”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

Went here with my husband for our anniversary to see a band and we stayed in a hotel down the street. They have done wonders with this place! My husband used to work here before it was Whiskey Priest and the place was a hole. They completely redid the inside and it is great. They have a wide selection of whiskey (hence the name), beer and wine as well as good food. We will 100% come back here again with my in-laws who are from/live in Scotland to have some whiskey!

“Mediocre at best”
Reviewed December 20, 2012

Went here for a post work gathering on a Wednesday. It was less than crowded but that was fine considering the normal scene in Boston. Service was ok behind the bar, although another larger work group came in and they seemed super overwhelmed. They had a guitarist playing which was a bit louder than needed. Otherwise the bar became extremely warm, since the heat was on full blast, and the staff refused to do anything about. I asked a bunch of them to turned it down, and got nothing. Weeded leaving shortly after that just because. Drinks were ok, nothing too spectacular. Probably wouldn't pick here again...

“Top night out”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

I was in Boston overnight last Thursday and was recommended this place. It was late when I got there nearly midnight but there was a good crowd, a very lond bar with several tending. The drinks menu was huge and as you would think from the name every type of whiskey under the sun. I had an ok Red wine ( i chose wrong) my friend enjoyed the beer and a small Killbeggan on the side. We were hungry and the kitchen closed at 11.30 and the guys recommended somewhere for us to go that was open later. I liked the music and the vibe, we had fun. Open until 2am.
