We have children who live in Boston so we are frequent visitors. We got a deal on the Nine Zero and had a wonderful experience. Great front desk staff, attractive, comfortable chairs, big windows and if you are a member of their free club you get a $10 credit to anything in the mini bar. They've got a free wine/cider hour around 5:00pm which we loved. The location is close to the T at Park so you can easily get anywhere in the city. Minutes from the Commons, Fanuiel Hall and the Freedom Trail.

Room Tip: We choose one of their allergy free rooms for my daughter.

We all understand now the importance of eco-friendly lightbulbs, etc. We also know that these save hotels $$$. Someone here had the not so bright idea to put in beyond harsh emergency room type lightbulbs in lamps with white shades so that the room and everyone in it has this nauseating nuclear glow to them. Really surprised Kimpton is doing this when they pride themselves on environments.

There are lampshades and softer bulbs that we all have access to that makes a room somewhat inviting.

The staff was lovely and are top notch. Room service was below average and there is no restaurant here anymore for some reason.

I have to agree with others the room rate is not commensurate with what you get. This hotel feels very average on all levels.

My experience here was mixed with both very good and some not so great points. You have to decide what is important to you. First the good: this has an excellent staff, very friendly and helpful. It is a great location for downtown Boston sightseeing. The room was extremely clean and nicely appointed; there is free internet if you join their club (free). There were good newspapers available each morning including a Sunday NY Times! They have robes in the room, a safe, and a minibar which could supply a small convenience store. There was no room to room noise and only a little street noise from the 10th floor. There is a small but nicely equipped exercise room and a second floor restaurant. They have free wine every evening. There was no coffee in the room but they delivered a Kurig coffee maker with 3 K-cups (for a 3 day stay) to me when I asked. No refills on the K-cups by the maid. Hmmm.
Now the so-so: the lobby is small and no really suitable for relaxing in. More of a wait for the cab type place with seating for ~15 and another set of ~ 6 lounge chairs in the hall toward the elevator. There are several classes of rooms in the hotel; I had the cheapest which was a small corner room. The layout was awkward with no spot big enough to leave an open suitcase except perhaps in a rather large and wasted entryway between the main door and bathroom. Anywhere else would have blocked access around the bed. There was insufficient room for a lounge chair or coffee table so you could sit at the desk, lie on the bed, or stand. Or go down to the (not particularly inviting) lobby. (or the decent Beantown bar next door. ahhh...). So as a place to stay overnight or for business I think this is a nice place but if you are looking for somewhere to relax and enjoy travel, spring for one of the larger rooms or try elsewhere.

Room Tip: Go high to get away from Tremont Street noise.

My wife and I have been returning to this hotel for years due to the wonderful intimate feeling and the perfect central location practically on The Common. The service is always nop-notch and rooms always comfortable and clean.

The T lines are very close and the main railway station for Boston (South Station) is a pleasant, 0.6 mile walk past coffee shops and Macys.

Not that you don't pay for the level of service you get, but there are so many disappointing experiences out there is is nice to have a place I can go with confidence.

Tip: Joining Kimpton rewards (free) provides free WiFi in the rooms.

Room Tip: Don't bother with the upgade to the "view" rooms. They are a couple of floor highers...

We have stayed at hotels all over Boston and are not quite sure why we have never stayed at this one. Loved it. Great location—right near the Boston Common with access to Newbury Street/ Copley shopping. We had a room with an amazing view of the State Capital, river beyond, could see down to the Back Bay. The gym had my favorite kind of elliptical. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and quiet, we heard no street noise or neighbors. The only blemish was no high definition TV feed. If you have flat screen TVs you should have a high definition TV feed. BUT the hotel was so nice and comfortable that I have to give it five stars. We look forward to going back.

Room Tip: We asked for a room on a high floor. Our room on the 17th floor had an amazing view.

Beautiful decor, very modern. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The rooms themselves are a little small but very comfortable (especially the bed... one of the best I've ever slept on, including my own). They were also remarquably quiet (you could not hear anything in the hallway). Bathroom has a pedestal vanity (which is nice but not very practical). Very little counter space to put out my bath amenities. The whole bathroom was marble. Beautiful shower but terrible water pressure (for the price that they charge, I expect everything to be top notch).

Valet parking (beware.. over 40$ per day). It is also the only viable parking option.

In the lobby between 5-6 PM, they serve wine (which is a nice touch).

EXCELLENT location! This could not have been better, you are in the heart of all of the action.

Overall, very good but for the prices that they charge, they need to pay attention to ALL of the details.

Lovely modern hotel and the perfect location for exploring all the sites of Boston as it's right in between the old city, Back Bay and lical shopping! The wine reception was a very nice touch as well and a good opportunity to meet people. Staff are very helpful and the rooms have free wifi. We didn't try the breakfast (too many other good places in Boston!) but it looked very nice too!
