The Ritz-Carlton, Boston
Ranked #27 of 84 Hotels in Boston

If this weren't the Ritz in Boston, it would get a higher rating. The fact is, however, that this Ritz, no matter how nice, is a shadow of the former Ritz-Carlton mothership facing the Public Gardens (now the Taj). For my $220, I got a room that was very nice, but on a long, somewhat personality-less hallway. The room was quiet, and everything functioned--plumbing, bed, internet, electronics, etc.--just fine. Downstairs, the lobby is weird--you enter directly to the reception desks, with little space to congregate and/or meet people. Just beyond the reception desks is the bar, so there is no waiting space or meeting space, other than in a bar--very odd. The restaurant is distinctly second-rate insofar as selection is concerned--for brunch, for example, on the weekend, one could see more alternatives at a diner. There are no vegetarian or vegan options, as another observation. Another negative is the location--this place is on a nondescript side street--very un-Ritz. When I compare to other first rank Ritz's worldwide, such as in London, Paris, or the old Boston Ritz, this place technically is quite ok, but has absolutely no soul. Put it differently, I doubt you will remember your experience here as a singular or a romantic standout. It is nice, but pedestrian.

The R-C Hotel in Boston has great rooms, good beds and a central location overlooking the park (if you have room on the right side of the hotel). There is only one snach, the a/c's in the rooms are very noisy and goes on and off every 5 minutes or so. The hotel guests have access to a huge and impressive sportsclub located on the fourth floor. You should also check ot the Artisan Bistro on the ground floor for good New England seafood. Overall, a relatively expensive but nice hotel (but bring something to put in your ears if you want to sleep uninterupted)

Stayed one night and hotel was nice like hyatt nice, rooms were on par with hyatt, hotel staff was very good and service was above average. Concierge was top shelf but hotel value was I would say not as good as expected, we paid over $500 per night and expected that wow factor for one room but it fell a bit short.
High points were very good concierge, and breakfast staff was well above average. Housekeeping staff was friendly and treated us well
Even the doorman was higher end

As you would expect at a Ritz property everything was top notch. The front desk setup is a bit odd, two desks in the lobby, but the staff who checked us in made us feel welcomed and like valued customer. All of the staff we dealt with were awesome. We were upgraded to a suite that was amazing. . Well worth a visit. We'll definitely be back

We booked a jr suite whichever as perfect for a couple with one child. Doors closed off the bedroom area, and there was a sleeper sofa in the living room. 2 bathrooms really helps and a tv in each room.
Food in the hotel is above average and the bar has a decent ambience.
Staff was friendly and ultimately helpful. I did have a problem with a car company the concierge recommended, and I had to get fairly upset. End the conversation. And have concierge call me BACK to get satisfaction. At a high end hotel, I expect high end service. They had to be coaxed to "get there".

Hotel has very good location close to Boston Common, theatres, Boston Opera House and other local attractions. Very good service, quick check in and check out, friendly staff. We stayed in standard room with club lounge access. The room could be bigger but it was comfortable with big and comfi bed. Bathroom well equipped. I recommend club lounge - very good service, good quality of food and decent selection of drinks - soft and alcohol ones. Recommended.

Boston hosts many fine hotels, and travelers have a wide array of choices when visiting this historic city. The Ritz-Carlton, however, is a special place. It isn't just the beautiful rooms, the elegant bar, or the glitzy décor that make The Ritz "The Ritz." It's the staff.

The people who work at The Ritz are happy. They are always smiling and always asking if there is something they can help you with. From chamber maid to concierge, from valet to waitress, they all seem to share a joy of being one's host.

Enough has been said of this fine hotel's dreamy beds and spacious bathrooms. My best memory of The Ritz will be its staff. Well done, I say, to you all.
