Staying at the Ritz Carlton, Boston, was nothing memorable or worth returning to. Our deluxe room had an awful view. The building across the way seemed like it was army's distance from our room. Seeing other people's underwear hanging to dry made keeping our drapes closed a necessity. When we complained, we were told that our room had one of the better views. Just wish we knew before booking this hotel. The housekeeping was inconsistent. The first night we weren't given slippers and the second night we weren't given water.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor with a park view

It's not "grand", but it has an understated elegance that is quite refreshing. Location is hard to beat. The Ritz is central to everything for a touristy Boston adventure. What struck me was how quiet the hotel was while walking down the hallways to my room. The furnishings and color scheme add to the sense of calm. We had a room that overlooked the Common. I spent a lot of time just gazing down at the lovely view. The staff is very friendly. They are solicitous at the appropriate times and appear to take great pride in their work. Yeah, it's pricey, but you do, in this case, get what you pay for. Lunched in the lobby restaurant. Food was outstanding. Room service was delivered on time and was also terrific. The true test- will we return. No question.

We stayed here for two nights just before departing on a cruise. We had a very pleasant experience, but for the price, I was somewhat underwhelmed by the hotel itself. I think it's overpriced. The Ritz-Carlton in Montreal is a much nicer hotel and costs considerably less.
We stayed on the Club Floor, which I highly recommend. The lounge and the meals served there are very nice, and the convenience of simply being able to go there and get a light meal is great. The food quality and the staff were excellent. I was disappointed the in the rooms. They were very clean and reasonably well appointed, but they really didn't have the feel of a high end luxury hotel. And while it's a matter of taste, I was underwhelmed by the lobby and nearby bar area. It seemed pretty dated. I could comfortably stay here again, but I think I'll try someplace else next time i go to Boston.

Right in the heart of downtown Boston, this older but well maintained hotel is one of the best in the city. The rooms reflect the city's past but also its future with well decorated and custom furnishings. Marble tiled bath adds a degree of elegance to to the stay; the beds were extremely comfortable. This is an excellent location for a special occasion.

Room Tip: ask for a room facing Boston Common

The service is as good as you would expect at a Ritz Carlton, all the employees from reception to bellmen are friendly and eager to please. A great sport club on the premises with fully-equipped gym and coffee shop. The room was well-furnished except for a paucity of drawers, which necessitates leaving some of your stuff in your suitcase. We are not stingy with gratuities in hotels of this caliber, but were annoyed to find gratuities added to the mini-bar charges. Tips for self-service? Come on now...

Great location, beautiful stunning rooms and traditional Ritz service. Quiet street right off the park! Doormen helpful and knowledgeable about the area....highly recommend this place. For $15.00 you get a workout at The sports club, an incredible facility in the same building!

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the park

This was our first stay at the Ritz Carlton Boston. We had a very nice experience there. The staff was friendly and informative and the rooms and public areas clean and comfortable. We also enjoyed the location.

Room Tip: Request room on a higher floor with view of the Commons.
