“Good historical information, difficult on crowded day, nice part of freedom trail”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013

We avoided the crowd by visiting Faneuil Hall about 2-hours before closing on a weekday; absolutely no lines. The tour guide was very informative with the Q&A but basic in the pre-scripted tour itself; so you get more for your money by asking questions and getting answers. Interesting items inside and explanations were written out well. The building itself is in the heart of a commercial area, so this place is commercialized. I recommend reading the online Historical Park Service info before going to the Hall. Alone, the Hall isn't much, and only contains a small piece of American history. But when you see this site as a part of the freedom trail and see where it fits into American history, it becomes more interesting as you connect the dots.

“Historical but overpriced”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

Yes, it's a historically significant site, but it is so commericalized and overpriced that I would not repeat our visit there. Shop for souvenirs and food elsewhere and it could be enjoyable.

Faneuil Hall is a historic building with many interesting aspects. The historic factor is great, It lets you see and touch history. The market lots of choices. Foods all kinds, Bakery items galore.
Clothing vendors, memorabilia items, Cheers everyone knows about not the original but still can be fun for tourists. Indoor and outdoor sights and sounds. Special events on many occasions.
Ticket booth for discount theater tickets. You name you can find it here.

“stay outside”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2013

don't waste your time going inside unless you want to use the washroom facilities. Just a bunch of tourist grabbing shops inside. The outside of the building is beautiful. Be sure to look for the grasshopper weather vane on the top of the building!
