I can't see how this is rated as #44. It's in the top 10 in my book. The energy here is just amazing. It's historic and so alive! There are lots of tourists and touristy type shops, but I think it blends well with the every day business of Boston as well as the old, preserved sites. I've been here many times and it never gets old. It's a great people watching location too.

Love going down to Faneuil in December once all the lights are up. It's a stunning area to really get in the holiday spirit. There's lots of eateries within, but it's enjoyable to just walk outside the structure and take in the beauty of it.

It is free to visit the Great Hall where our forefathers discussed the possibility of a revolution. Very worth checking out- so cool to think of what took place there centuries ago. Also tours on the freedom trail begin here.

While it has a lot of history, today its a collection of second ate stores and stands selling touristy stuff. Worth walking by and imagining what it was like 200 years ago without the commercialism.

The Faneuil Hall building is worth going into. A piece of American history. Also visit the marketplace stores. The area has become a prime tourist destination and is very charming.
