came here for a surprise engagement dinner party with party of 14.
we had a fixed dinner menu:
appetizers for the table (clam chowder, oyster sliders, fried crab cake)
choice of salmon/lobster roll for entree
choice of chocolate cake/apple fritters
the clam chowder and oyster sliders were good. the fried crab cake was just ok and dry. it couldve used some sauce.
the salmon and the lobster roll were delicious! the lobster roll was served chilled and had lots of lobster meat. the salmon was tender and moist and cooked perfectly. it was very fresh.
the chocolate cake was alright. it was served with some weird ice cream and a melted marshmellow was good.
i enjoyed the apple fritters with caramel alot more. the fritters were cooked perfectly and dipping them in caramel was heaven!
overall, this restaurant has good food with some hits and misses. the decor inside is nice, and the service is pretty decent. i know our waiter had his hands full with 14 people, pouring champaigne, wine, and taking a group photo of us on all of cameras, but he did an excellent job tending to us.
unfortunately, since it was a set dinner, i did not get to try their oyster bar, which i wouldve loved to sample . this place is really close to the kenmore area. the food is alright here, but i would come back a 2nd time to see how it truly measures up for boston seafood.
