An first visit was ok but underwhelming. The Maitre'D, Ashley White-Stern, went out of her way to encourage us to give it another shot.
We did, and it was great!
The oysters were wonderful – I got some stronger Wellfleets this time, very much more to my liking than the very mild ones I had the first time – and others really liked the Misty Points. Sweet Maine shrimp were remarkably light and a smelt amuse-bouche was a very interesting and unexpected treat – something none of us had ever had.
One of us had a reprise of the lobster roe noodles and loved them, another had the chowder and the many-flavored hamburger with oysters and loved them both. I had the scallops which were, without a doubt, the MOST TENDER and delicious scallops I have ever had. I savored every bite.
All in all, a wonderful evening and we will be back.
