The inspiration behind the restaurant's American Nouveau Cuisine is seasonality, with a focus on working with the finest farms and purveyors, sourcing out the freshest, local ingredients and amplifying their magnificence. The cuisine is strongly rooted in the nouvelle techniques of contemporary French cuisine, married with the splendor of American ingredients in a refined, but casual setting. Deuxave's (pronounced doo-ave) name plays homage to its location at the corners of Commonwealth Ave and Massachusetts Ave.

Came here because i was on buisness trip and i loved it. Yes its might be a little over price but its in the heart of boston so you kinda expect high prices. But the food is quickly served and the service i loved it. Sasha my waitress was a doll

This was quite simply our best meal in the USA. And if I add that we dined at a 3 Michelin starred restaurant in NYC it perhaps puts this accolade in some perspective.
The room is elegant and understated and our table was spacious giving us both a full view of the dining room. Service was friendly and impeccable. Do not expect crisp white table cloths and starched napery. Here the food does the talking; except it does not talk, it sings! My starter of a Duet of Prime Beef Tartare & Waygu Carpaccio was one of the finest starters I have eve eaten. I simply did not wish to finish it - and all for just $14. I need not have worried, my main course of Halibut was every bit as good and a joy to eat. Wines were excellent. It is so rare to experience a meal of this quality without all the flummery which accompanies Michelin. This place is a gem, with hard working and caring staff. Just book a table and GO!

We went on a Tuesday night, was not too busy, lovely decor, attentive staff. We were seated in a booth, so it was quiet and conducive to conversation. We shared an appetizer that was a special, asparagus ravioli. It was delicious! My companion had the scallops as an entree and I had the halibut. Both were perfectly prepared with spring veggies, perfect temperature. The waitress was knowledgable about wine pairing. We shared the creme brulee, smooth, creamy. It's expensive, but you get what you pay for, would definitely go back.

Visited Boston this past weekend, based on some advance review of TA thought we'd try Deuxave. Easy taxi drive from downtown. Quaint, corner-situated restaurant in a residential area. Little confusing to our taxi driver. As landmarks go - tell driver restaurant is across from the Elliot Hotel. Great starters, pork trio nicely done, and recommend dessert - Panna cotta with passion and yes we fell for the creme brûlée (recommendation) after all creme brûlée is just creme brulee - actually much, much better than expected,
So if you already like it - you'll be delighted... Above average wine list. See other reviews for additional dinning recommendations. Worth the time - take a detour and have a great dinner. Karen is a wonderful server.

Prompted by the many rave reviews, we decided to try out Deuxave - the staff could not have been more accommodating. We highly recommend the beet salad appetizer with goat cheese which was spectacular along with the 2 hour egg salad (one of the best things I've had in a long time and not something you see all the time). We had a side of fantastic wild mushrooms and shared a main course of the Halibut which was super fresh and fantastic. They get their fish fresh and you can tell.

The atmosphere was cozy and hopping on a Friday night. We didn't have dessert so I can't comment but they did have some great dessert wines like Pedro Ximenez which was fantastic (plus the free small dessert tastes). Some of the dishes could use a bit of simplification in that they combined too many flavors/textures/combos into one dish. But a minor gripe for a fantastic meal. The highlight was our server Don who was a true foodie and VERY knowledgeable about every aspect of meal preparation and ingredients. He gets 5 stars for sure!!
