Getting there- you can either,
Get the free bus and pay $12 on the boat to get to Lewis Wharf. Tell them where you are staying and make sure they know it, we got dropped off on another side, it was dark, rainy, we had suitcases and it was not pleasant! If your boat driver doesn't recognise The Golden Slipper get them to phone it in so that they drop you off on the right marina. Gretchen came to our rescue!
An uber to Logan was really cheap and took 10mins (we ordered it from Starbucks)
I'd recommend doing it that way around, the boat gives you such a lovely view coming into Boston and it's a great experience

On arriving we were cold wet and had luggage, but within minutes of meeting Gretchen and getting to the boat we were SO happy we chose to stay here.

Literally every single aspect is thought of and provided. We were warm (heaters) had a good drinks (lots of teas provided) and had food (lots of snacks and breakfast options provided) within minutes. Gretchen gave us loads of info to set us up for our stay - she's a wonderful lady, so warm and friendly with a fun character and knows Boston inside out.

It sounds strange to say a boat if cosy, but it really is. Waking up on the water, going up to the deck and watching the geese swim past is special

Such a unique experience in a great location (North end restaurants 5mins, Quincy Market 8mins, 15mins walk to Boston Common) we would definitely come back to Boston and The Golden Slipper again

Thanks Gretchen for helping us to have a great honeymoon experience! See you again - Tracy & Eamon

“Really enjoyed our stay”

We really enjoyed our stay at the Golden Slipper. It came at the end of 3 week tour of America and it was the perfect antidote to the bland chain hotels we had mainly been staying in. A quirky charming boat in a very convenient central Boston location within easy walking distance of all we wanted to see. Gretchen our host was lovely and made us feel extremely welcome despite arriving unexpectedly very late due to flight delays. The boat had everything we needed even wi fi , an air conditioning unit and fans ( we were grateful for these in the hot weather) but best of all it had a lovely deck to sit out on and enjoy a glass of wine and see the sun go down . A more peaceful retreat in the heart of the city can not be imagined. The boat had cooking facilities but we did not even think to use them as we were close to so many restaurants and a great deli where you could get a nice meal to bring back to eat on deck. The bathroom off our bedroom was good ( no shortage of hot water for showers, hairdryer provided etc ), though you had to be sensible with loo roll use in the toilet as it had a macerator ( unavoidable given the marine setting but we did not find this a problem and bins and bags were provided if needed). So glad we booked this rather than just another standard hotel room it made our stay in Boston extra special and we can't wait to go back !

“Highlight of our trip!”

My family loved staying on the Golden Slipper...that is quite a feat to satisfy 3 teenagers and their parents. The boat fit all 5 of us comfortably for sleeping, as well as eating, and hanging out. We loved spending time up on the deck, especially in the evenings and early mornings. The location of the boat could not be better. We walked to restaurants, aquarium, Boston Harbor cruise, Faneuil Hall, Golden Goose grocery store, Science museum and hopped on the "T" to go to the Prudential Building. The location also allowed us to return to the boat easily between sightseeing jaunts. Gretchen the boat owner was very helpful and couldn't have been nicer. She gave my husband instructions on how to go from the airport to the boat via water taxi, and they dropped him off right on the Golden Slipper's dock. We loved staying on the boat, and would definitely stay there again when visiting Boston.

“Wonderful experience on a couple of very hot days in Boston!”
Reviewed August 5, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

A unique place to call home for a couple of days. The owner was very helpful and available for any issues, but we had none. Area is perfect, within walking distance to the hot spots in Boston.

We greatly enjoyed our stay on the Golden Slipper! the boat was docked in the Boston Harbor close to restaurants, the Northeast Aquarium, the Freedom Trail, cruises, and just about everything. The experience of staying on this boat provided for a quiet and relaxing place to stay while still within walking distance of the hustle bustle activities of the inner harbor.
The Golden Slipper was exactly as described and we wanted and needed nothing as everything was provided as promised. Strongly recommend that you experience this adventure.

“Unique experience in a fantastic location!!”

I stayed on the Golden Slipper with my husband and my parents for 5 nights at the beginning of June as part of a multi-city visit to the USA.
None of us are 'boaters' so were really excited to try something new. We were not disappointed! We were greeted by the friendly owners who gave an in depth tour of the boat to let us know the ins and outs of being on board. We felt really welcome :)
Accommodation - each of the two bedrooms are comfortable and have their own bathroom & shower. The breakfast foods provided were ample for our party size for our stay. We felt extremely safe on the boat - the wharf itself is gated and only accessible with a key. The Wifi connection was great.
Location - We got a Water Taxi from the Airport and the captain knew exactly where to take us - we were dropped off directly at the mooring so we had no problems with luggage, etc. The location is perfect for accessing the main tourist sites. It is located on the next wharf along from Long Wharf (2-3 minutes walk maximum!) where Boston Harbour Cruises operate from meaning that it's easy to get the ferry to the USS Constitution, Salem, etc. Additionally, Faneuille Hall is around 5-10 minutes walk away with Little Italy a mere 2 minutes away. There is also a grocery store across the street which is extremely well stocked.
Would recommend to anyone!

“PEACEFUL, RESTFUL”
Reviewed May 17, 2016 for a stay in September 2015

Usually one does not go to Boston to rest, but we were there for a family event and stayed on the Golden Slipper. With all the excitement the family gatherings can generate, it was lovely to relax on the water at sunset with a glass of wine, cool jazz and not hotel hassle, Wished I lived close (Florida) and could come once a month to relax and destress. One of my favvorite places to stay.
