We visited Towne in a large. Ti my disappointment the food was average. The downstairs bar scene is great.

“Oasis in Boston”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 7, 2012 via mobile

I visited Towne for Sunday brunch. This place has a cute and cosy courtyard that gives you the impression of being in the country right off Bolston Street in Back Bay, Boston. They make you feel like royalty and the food is excellent. Even the fresh fruits were tasty. Bravo. !

“Loud, Expensive and Mediocre”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2012 via mobile

I have eaten here before twice and loved it. Thought the food was inventive, liked the atmosphere and thought the service was acceptable. Not tonight. They have changed the menu so that everything is a la carte. It is expensive. Order a $30 piece of fish or a $40 steak and it comes with a plate garnish. You Ned to order a separate ($6-$10) side to go with it. Really? My husband and two grown boys all had the red snapper which was cooked appropriately, but nothing special. Could have made it at home. I had the Weiner Schnitzel, which was nicely cooked, but plain and noting special for $26. The service was very mediocre. We waited a while for our drinks to arrive. One of the appetizers never showed up, until we reminded them a second time that we had never gotten the Caesar salad. The servers were fine but disinterested and unapologetic. The place was LOUD! Do not come here for a dinner if you want conversation as well. I was really disappointed as coming here tonight was my idea afterbtwomprior excellent dinners. Clearly more had changed than just the menu, and not for the better.

“Perfect ambiance accompanied of great service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2012

The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating, with an spectacular view of the plaza below the Prudential Tower. It is the perfect place for a drink or dinner. The waiter was really helpful and patient, considering that we were a big group (6). The food was very tasty. All of us were happy with our plates, primarily seafood. I would recommend it to anybody that enjoys good food as much as the visual content an the dynamics of a restaurant.

“Best of Bean"towne"”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2012

One of the best dining experiences in the city regardless of whether you are a local or a visitor. Fantastic location, excellent food and a great atmosphere. The menu is varied enough and I haven't had a bad dish here in my last 4 visits. Don't miss the lobster popovers, crispy duck, wagyu skirt steak or the wood grilled lobster. The cocktails are great, cucumber rose is my favorite.
