We did a 5 hour tour with Joe on 8th August. I had previously been in touch with Michelle in the office, who had spent a lot of time answering my endless questions, and nothing was too much trouble. She put together a basic itinerary for us to follow from what I had asked. Joe met us promptly at our hotel, and immediately came across as a warm and welcoming young man. He was born & bred in Boston so had an amazing knowledge of the history and also the different areas of the city. He was really accommodating and very relaxed and easy going. There was no rush and he was totally guided by us and where we wanted to go. We were able to pop in to local supermarkets and grab water, stop off at the Cheers pub for a drink, call at a local bakery for some recommended cannolis etc etc. He made it all so interesting and told some great stories and some quite amusing ones too. In the 5 hours we managed to see a majority of Boston and we also took an uber with Joe to Cambridge and he showed us around Harvard. My son wanted to buy a Harvard sweatshirt so he took us to the best shop to buy one too. We had a great morning, and learned so much about Boston & its History. We would definitely recommend this tour to...We did a 5 hour tour with Joe on 8th August. Show lessWe thoroughly enjoyed this tour and the narrative on the areas and events. We loved each stop Adam suggested. His driving was the best ever and he navigated the streets and parking giving us all the time to enjoy the surroundings. He is sociable, insightful and takes his responsibility for our experience seriously. Highly recommend Adam and Boston Private Tours.
We toured Boston today with Joe...it was phenomenal—loved the Southie accent and to hear the passion and stories of Boston from a native is priceless. Joe’s family stories intertwined with the history of the city gave us a lot of context. We were able to see every major sight comfortably in a car and felt we got done in 4 hours what otherwise would have taken several days. I would recommend that this is the best way to tour the city and get the best understanding of the layout and culture—next trip to Boston would be even more meaningful.
Thank you Joe for a memorable day!!
I contacted this company and Michelle helped organize a private tour of Boston for our group of 14. Our tour guide was Svenja. She picked our group up promptly and delighted us with a tour of the highlights of Boston including the universities, the waterfront, Beacon Hill, Fenway Park, Faneuil Hall, the waterfront and a took us to a tower in Mount Auburn Cemetery that afforded us a great view of the city. The company made a lunch reservation for us at the Warren, a restaurant frequented by Paul Revere and George Washington back in the day. We enjoyed the restaurant very much. Svenja was very knowledgeable and provided us with a ton of information about Boston. We also visited sites in the surrounding area that she suggested the following day. I thought the tour was excellent and I would not hesitate to recommend this company.
Amazing! Adam took us to many points of interest. His narrative is off the charts magnificent. His experience as a history teacher made a huge impact. Michelle in the office went the extra to accommodate our late request. Adam is articulate and patient. His driving skills are top notch and he stopped to tour very interesting places. At north end where we wanted dinner he took us to an amazing pastry place known by the locals and pointed us a few great restaurants meeting our casual request. He walked us up the block taking us to an amazing spice store. Adam and his family live here and he celebrates history. Highly recommend this company and specifically Adam. His vehicle is clean and comfy. YOU deserve this special service.
We had a lovely day with our guide, Joe. Our interest was in seeing the history of the city, but with a lot of local neighborhood color. We wanted to understand the vibe of each neighborhood. Wow, did Joe deliver! He is a born and bred “Southie” so his ability to show us the ins and out of South Boston was second to none. He also took us to the North end, Charlestown, Cambridge and many sights in between. It was awesome to see the city from a super friendly, fun and Boston lifer POV. Thanks for the great day!
