Absolutely wonderful place to stay to feel like you are part of Boston! I would do it again! Close to lots of food and entertainment and a ten minute walk to any transportation you could ever need. Great hosts, amazing home with lots of great antiques! very relaxing and felt like you were at home.

Although my husband lived for almost ten years in Boston and Cambridge, the last time he was there was in 1997. For me, this was my first time actually staying in Boston. So in short, we both had only the slightest idea on what to look for when choosing a place to stay.

We were so lucky to have finally picked the 1863 House from the many B&B options we had. We made that decision solely based on knowing that it's located by Trenton Street, which seemed to have lots of dining options, and that it fits our budget perfectly. We couldn't have picked a better place! It's in a superb location: within walking distance to the Back Bay metro station, if you ever need anything from a mall the Shops at Prudential are not too far from the Back Bay metro and great restaurants in Trenton St. are literally 5 minutes away on foot.

Not only that Boston is beautiful, but thanks to Ben & Jean for welcoming us in their cozy, comfy and charming home, we had an unforgettable stay there. You couldn't ask for a more welcoming and kind hosts!

I needed a place to stay for a conference at Hynes and this was an ideal location. Far cheaper than the conference hotel option and I didn't have to pay extra for breakfast or wi-fi. I much appreciated the free long distance on the phone as well. The continental breakfast was filling and very convenient as I could eat it on my own schedule. The location is great as I could go from the B&B to my seat at the conference in under 15 minutes (the last 5 minutes or so being inside). It was convenient to the airport as well as a $2 subway ride brings you to the Back Bay station that is about a 10 minute walk away. I was the only guest for the four nights I was there so I didn't have to share the bathroom, so the stay was ideal in every way.
As a bonus the hosts are quite pleasant and enjoyable to chat with. I highly recommend!

We arrived in the afternoon and dropped our bags of and explored the town. It was within minutes of the centre of the town but the location was further enough away to be nice and quiet - best of both worlds.

Jane and Ben were fantastic hosts with providing more than what we exepct. We had great conversations and provided us with very useful information on the area.

The room was lovely and seemed to be filled with lots of different things from across the world. The whole house was lovely and loved all the art around the house.

Breakfast was amazing and just what we needed to start the day. The OJ was the best!!

The only down fall for us was the smallish bed as we are used to a king bed for two very tall people and it was only double, we were aware of this before we arrived and would not stop us staying again.

The shared bathroom was not an issue at all and was nice and big.

We loved Boston and this b and b had a huge impact on our view of the town.

Room Tip: both rooms would be wonderful!

I stayed 5 nights and had a wonderful time. Great location, great hosts and great breakfasts.
I can highly recommend this property. It's in a great location. Easy walking distance to Back Bay subway, restaurants and shops. I was travelling alone and felt really safe. My room was very comfortable and had wifi also.

A little gem in the midst of the vibrant and cultured Boston. The accommodation is comfortable with a traditional and yet also a contemporary touch and feel to it. The location is perfect for exploring the city. Jane was a hospitable and an unassuming host who offered excellent tips and advices when asked.

Thank you Jane for sharing your home with us.

Regards,
Tommy and Ben

We chanced upon this B&B having baulked at the prices of Boston hotels and were very glad we did. We were welcomed by the perfect host who hepled orientate us and gave suggestions of sights and activities. Throughout our stay we felt incredibly welcome. The house is lovely and in an excellent location - you really dont need a car staying here. Dont be put off by booking through the bed and breakfast agency this is a brilliant place to stay and I thoroughly recommend it.
