“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 23, 2010

After reading the great reviews on Tripadvisor, I booked at the Montgomerey Place for a 2 ngiht stay for my mother and I - we absolutely loved it!

Kathe was very welcoming on our arrival and since it was our first trip to Boston gave us great recommendations on sights, restaurants etc and provided us with a map too which we appreciated. The room itself is really spacious and charmingly decorated. There is an a comfortable king sized bed, TV plus a small fridge and A/C - necessary in the summer heat! There is also a large desk and chair and a very comfortable leather chair to relax in. The bathroom is also spacious and spotless and there were plenty of fresh towels and also bathrobes for our use. A full range of toiletries are available should you need them and a hairdryer.

We stayed in Room 1 which was the bed and breakfast. The breakfasts were a beautifully presented continental style, different each day and were always absolutely delicious! We enjoyed lovely thick yogurt, granola cereal, fresh fruit, pastries, fresh orange juice, coffee and/or tea.

On our next trip to Boston, I will most definitely be staying here again!

I had the most pleasant experience. The place is located in an excellent spot, very convinient and quiet. Room facilities are more than you expect. Bathroom is super. Breakfast is excellent. Hospitality of a high standard overall. I'm definately reccomending it and definately I'll be going back.

We had a fabulous experience with Montgomery Place Bed and Breakfast. We did have to a day of business outside of Boston, so we did rent a car. The proprietor was very helpful with parking ideas so it would not be so expensive. If not for our business outside of Boston, there is no need for a vehicle. Public transportation takes care of everything. Location of room was so convenient to EVERYTHING. Main train stop only blocks away, as well as shopping, museums, Fenway Park, Prudential building, Copley Square, theater district....EVERYTHING. The room was quaint and very comfortable, we pretended we lived in Boston :) It is in a trendy neighborhood with a bakery close that you could smell each morning. There was no noise what-so-ever that interfered with sleeping. The room we stayed in had a ceiling fan which was a bonus plus for us (we're used to sleeping with a fan). All our needs were met (fressh fruit, yogurt and orange juice provided...french press coffee maker, the essentials for a great start to the day) , the propietors were very accomodating and we couldn't have asked for a better experience for the price. We will definitely be planning another trip to visit Boston and stay here.

We found that Boston is a wonderful city to visit! A large part of our enjoyment originated with our lodging on Montgomery St.. Rather than choose a hotel we wanted to experience what it might be like to live as residents of a Boston neighborhood. Our location gave us this experience! Our Montgomery St "home" was in a very convenient location only a few blocks from the "T" (subway sytem), many historical sites, and a nice selection of restaurants, coffee shops, etc. The home itself is a brownstone dating to the 19th century. The room we stayed in (#2) had all of the necessities including a very comfortable queen size bed. There were nice artistic touches in the room and well- chosen paint colors. Refinished hard-wood flooring added charm and elegance. The bathroom was small, but wonderfully decorated with many cheerful colors! (The sink is slightly smaller than a traditional sink making it initially difficult to shave without spilling water) The room has a well-equipped kitchenette (microwave, fridge, etc.). Food items included some extraordinary muffins, cereals, fresh fruit, orange juice, several flavors of yogurt, coffee and numerous choices of tea. With the room windows shut the room is very quiet despite being in the city with all of the accompanying noises (sirens, buses, people). The owners of the home are long-time residents and have an extensive knowledge of Boston. They have put time and effort into creating a welcoming environment that rivals that of many of the hotels we have stayed in. We definitely recommend staying on Montgomery St.!
