Description: Post 390 puts a contemporary twist on the traditional tavern experience, with seasonally inspired dishes that reflect Chef Eric Brennan’s passion for fresh ingredients and unforgettable flavors. On the first floor is the Tavern—a casual but sophisticated menu and atmosphere, with a 25-seat bar and high top and banquette seating area, warmed by a beautiful four-sided fireplace. A massive wrought iron staircase connects the energy of the first floor with the Dining Room on the second floor. Here, guests can have a more refined dining experience, and enjoy our large, open kitchen, wine displays, two private dining rooms, additional fireside dining and views of landmarks like Copley Place, Trinity Church and the Hancock Tower. Throughout the entire restaurant, black glazed brick columns and wood slatted walls add an urban edge to the comforting atmosphere. Located in the Clarendon Building, the site of the former Back Bay Post Office Annex, Post 390 is perfectly situated within

We had dinner here for a celebration and I was much impressed with the presentation of the food and how great the salmon tasted but the best thing on the menu is the banana cream pie!!! I would order that again and again. Wonderful service and atmosphere as well.

“Poor service, food was wrong & not worth price”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2013

We ate here for lunch on NYE and I was so disappointed. With so many great places to eat in the Back Bay, I would make another choice on our next visit to Boston.
The good - clam chowder & turkey BLT.
The bad - we waited a long time for our order and 4 of our 6 orders were delivered wrong, and it was cold upstairs! Two of us ordered burgers and stated explicitly no cheese - arrived with melted cheese - and it took so long to get it we just peeled it off. Kids pasta with red sauce arrived with no red sauce and took 10 minutes to get red sauce - for $11 it was a ripoff, and the kids hated it. Falling ice and snow from the roof was very odd too - 3 huge signs on the sidewalk about the ice and snow was weird. We walked all around and I did not see this any other place.

“Surprisingly good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 21, 2012

I have had brunch and dinner here. It is a good location if you are going to the theaters around there. Brunch has a limited menu but the eggs Benedict was perfect. Had dinner there a month ago with a group of friends when we had a reservation at Tico but at last minute our group grew larger and tico could not accommodate us (totally understandable). Post 390 was great, we sat upstairs and everyone thought the food was awesome. Reasonable prices and good wine list. Great service.

“Bad, bad...”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2012 via mobile

I went for lunch with my wife and at first the restaurant looked nice and upscale. We ordered a steak and cheeseburger along with drinks and apps. We ordered medium temperature for both but when they came out they were rare. We returned the meals and they brought them back burnt. The fries were refried, wrinkled and greasy. The waitress was rude and had an attitude while teaching us a lesson about what the definition of medium is. The food was simply inedible, dry, greasy and burnt. We couldnt finish our dinner. When we paid the server kept our change and disappeared. Not only didnt they apologize but they added a mandatory gratuity of 50% just by taking the money and never returning the change. We had to literally get up and start searching to locate the waitress and get our change back. Bad food, bad service, horrible overall experience. There are better restaurants to go to in Boston.

“Nice atmosphere, good meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2012 via Local Picks

Went here with a large group and sat upstairs. The service was very good. A lot of great drink options. Interesting twists on some traditional stuff on the menu. I had a rabbit appetizer and duck for an entree and both were very good. Has a nice ambiance with several fireplaces.

Thank Adam R
