“Modern & Chic”

This was our second time staying here. It was taken over by a different group as it is not run by the Morgans hotel group. The service was the same as last year, pretty good. The location is wonderful and the rooms are nice, although anything below a superior room has cramped floor space between the bed and the TV on the wall. The restaurant wasn't open this time we stayed but we always venture out. If you are a returning client it is worth mentioning it to the receptionist. I personally love the bathrooms in this hotel they are unique and fun due to the glass wall.

Room Tip: Superior Deluxe is worth the extra room in the bedroom, the floor space is too cramped on anything b...

Although we had a hard time finding the hotel (no name on the front because it's a historical building) we found the place very nice, very design style.
The room is very comfy and clean.
Location is perfect
The gym is ridiculously small
Parking is expensive though

Will come back!

This hotel is a great mix of minimalist Euro style and great location just steps from the State blue line stop from Logan. Unfortunately, the restaurant is currently closed (the front desk said it wasn't making money, so is closed for a reconcepting). If it weren't for that, i would have given it an excellent. Yes, you can hear the subway rumble underneath the building, but it wasn't noticeable while sleeping (I was on the 4th floor, so pretty low down).

As stated by a previous reviewer, the hotel is difficult to find because it is not signed, but the location could not be bettered. We occupied rooms on the top floor and therefore there were no views because the windows were high up near the ceiling. The rooms were modern, clean, spacious with well equipped shower room. It was a shame there was no bar or restaurant on site though. Boston is a fabulous city so we would hope to revisit but not necessarily at this hotel.

The Ames Hotel might be a little hard to find because there is no big sign outside, but inside is a hidden gem. The staff was exceptional...we arrived about an hour early and they got us right into our room without any problem. I have stayed other places where you can't get in until check in time or even later. The rooms were minimal, but very nicely done and pleasant. The only downfall is that there is no coffee maker in your room and you have to leave the hotel to get a cup of coffee. Location is great for business travelers as well as vacationers. Great Place! Give it a try.

Room Tip: Small hotel...all rooms are great!

I recently stayed at the Ames for a second time, and again, was not disappointed. The service was still great! We arrived early and our room wasn't ready so they held our luggage for us and said they would phone us when the room was ready.

The room was clean and comfortable as expected, had a decent view (but does it matter? We were in the room to sleep!) and there were plenty of towels, hot water and water pressure in the shower.

When it came time to check out we had no issues. They held our luggage again until we were ready to leave and then called us a taxi and off we went.

The hotel is a little pricey, especially now that the restaurant/bar is closed, but as with any city, you pay for location and this hotel is such a great location, that's pretty much why we chose it again.

Splurge and stay at the Ames!

Room Tip: A higher floor will eliminate the slight noise and vibration from the subway.

My husband and I went to Boston to celebrate his 50th bday and our hotel was great! Comfy bed, gracious staff and amazing view! We will stay here next time. Oh and 4 Starbucks within a block, which we were into.
