Green Turtle Floating Bed and Breakfast

We were a little apprehensive about staying on a floating B&B but now we can't wait to go back to the Green Turtle. Karen and Jon were the perfect hosts and we immediately felt like we had known them for ever. We have stayed in many hotels through the years and after awhile they just all look the same. Sitting on the dock at night looking at the bright lights of Boston while enjoying the peace and serenity of our little oasis was simply amazing. The room had more than enough space for us with a small kitchen area and private bath. Having our breakfast brought out to us and enjoying it on the dock while the harbor woke up was the most relaxing experience we've had in a long time.

Logistically we were a 10 minute walk to the USS Constitution where we boarded a water shuttle for $1.70 for a 10 minute ride to Long Wharf in Boston avoiding any traffic or parking issues. At night we made the 5 minute drive to the North End to enjoy a great Italian dinner.

We now feel like part of the Green Turtle family and will definitely be returning to the little oasis in the city....

It's not often that where we stay becomes the destination, but that was the case with our too brief stay at the Green Turtle. We just LOVED relaxing in our deck chairs, with the gentle rock & sway of the pier. The room was lovely, fabulous bed, and all our needs attended to by the very helpful owners. Sleeping at night, with the windows open, was just incredible. We'll be back!

SO glad I found the Green Turtle on Trip Advisor after tiring of the same old hotel options. The Green Turtle was one of the nicest places I've ever stayed, and it was definitely the most unique!

As soon as we pulled up to the dock, Jon greeted us with a parking pass (phew) and a wagon to pull our luggage down to the marina. Karen gave us an informative tour of the room and local maps. We walked over to Tavern on the Water (5-minute walk) and then took the $1.70 ferry to the aquarium, where we wandered through Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall before heading over to the North End for oysters and lobster rolls at Neptune Oyster. It was a 90-degree day, but we ended up walking back to the Green Turtle (clutching our desserts from Mike's Pastry) and it couldn't have taken more than a half-hour. We ate our cannoli on the dock as the sun went down...what an amazing way to end our vacation.

We only stayed one night, but it may have been the most perfect night ever! The bed was unbelievably comfortable, the shower was great, the snacks in the room were impressive, and the view was incredible.

The room had silverware, a refrigerator, microwave, coffeepot, corkscrew, etc, and plenty of local brochures/magazines. I wish we had had time to play with the chess set on the dock!

Karen and Jon were friendly, helpful and hospitable. I wish we could have stayed longer and I'd love to go back!

I stayed here for 2 nights in June 2011. I was pleased with the hotel location along Boston Harbor. Jon and Karen (owners) made me feel at home. It was possible to walk everywhere, yet also close to the water taxis, and ferries. This was my first time in Boston and I definitively will be back.

Room Tip: Floating Hotel, fun, relaxing and it moves

My wife and I stayed here for three nights at the end of May. Water taxi from the airport dropped us right at the door and we were met by Jon & Karen who took time to show us around the fantastic B&B. Very clean, comfortable and relaxing. Wonderful breakfast which you can enjoy on the deck watching the boats passing and with an unrivalled view of downtown Boston. Cannot recommend this accommodation highly enough and hope we can return soon!!

A unique experience on the edge of Boston. Easy to reach by car or Water taxi. The owner was on site to greet us when we arrived and parking was reserved for us close by. The Inn is both unique and luxurious. We fell asleep each night to the rocking of the boat. We have never felt so safe and comfortable when staying in a big city. The Inn is close to the ferry, bus routes, tours, and the North End of Boston. We were well taken care of and the owner was available if we needed anything and we loved the breakfast she brought each morning. This is a beautiful place to stay in Boston.

We had a wonderful stay at the Green Turtle Floating Bed & Breakfast. The inn Keepers, who live on their sailboat at a different slip in the same marina, were very nice and accommodating. Breakfast was tasty and filling and served hot each morning at our desired time. The view at sunset was great and sleeping on the water was very relaxing. It's worth knowing that although the location is scenic and quiet, it is not convenient. The nearby dockside restaurant, "Tavern on the Water" is dirty and a bit unfriendly. All other restaurants are at least 30 minutes away by foot or transit. We had trouble describing the pick-up location to taxi companies because we couldn't provide a precise street address for the dispatcher to punch into their GPS system.
