There is no clear counter where to order. We just walked in and said hello and someone came out to help us. We ordered lobster rolls and clam chowda and watched some HUGE live lobsters in a tank while waiting for our order. The lobster rolls were terrific, the clam chowda not so much. We ate outside on benches under umbrellas.

This place reeks no-nonsense . If you can work out how to order and where to sit you'll be rewarded with no frills top class seafood delights. For someone who doesn't like seafood, but has to try a city's speciality, I loved the clam chowder, the stuffed clams and the lobster roll. The staff were very courteous and efficient - could they have secretly converted me?

Wow! Those were some good lobsters. Not much for fancy ambiance, but the seafood does not get any fresher. Seating is mostly on picnic benches outside.

They supply seafood to most of the restaurants in Boston.

Their menu indicates they sometimes serve boiled lobster. Today and yesterday I went there with my wife and we split a 3 pound lobster for lunch. Perfectly cooked with plenty of lemon and butter. Two crackers, two lobster forks and plenty of napkins.

We also had the seafood chowder and the clam chowder. Both were great.

Lunch was about $40 plus tip for two. The guys at the counter were very nice and comped a bowl of excellent fish chowder our second visit. There were a lot of locals getting lobster rolls for lunch. Maybe tomorrow.
