Owner description: A circle of cobblestones in the street outside the Old State House marks the spot where British soldiers fired on a crowd, the event which many believe was the start of the Revolutionary War.

“Propaganda at its finest”

This site was a historical place. The story behind its even better! I highly recommend the tour of the Old State house and to hear about the "massacre."

Again another important piece of American History. Part of the Revolutionary Period preceding the Declaration of Independence.

“Boston Massacre II”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 16, 2012

This is probably the only tourist attraction I've ever seen where you have to dodge traffic to see the actual site. You have to be careful not to become massacred yourself! I recommend it because it's a funny attraction the way it's so poorly implemented.

“Kind of a Big Yawn”

If you happen to come across it while touring Boston, take a picture and read the plaque, but it is not worth a special trip to try and find it.

“The event that started the revolution!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2012

The site was included in our tour of Boston early in October and it was only a big circular marker on the ground. It was pointed to us by the guide. He said that five colonists were massacred on this site on March 5, 1770. Tension between the British army and the people of Massachusetts started when the British imposed enormous tax burdens on the people. This started the revolution. The Faneuil Hall is nearby. Don't miss these areas when you visit Boston.
