Owner description: This 220-foot granite tower commemorates the Patriots' undaunted bravery in defeat at the 1775 Battle of Bunker Hill.

Because this is the last stop on the Freedom Trail and a bit of a long walk from the start, I don't think some of the tourists go the extra distance as it was much quieter than the other stops on the Freedom Trail walk. Well worth the walk as the grounds are beautiful and if you have any energy left, climb the 294 steps to the top of the monument...great views! It is very tight quarters and hot in the monument, so not something to do if you are claustrophobic.

I started the Freedom Trail here and it is in a lovely area with beautiful homes and scenery. The monument itself is impressively huge for the area. Not much to the area up-top from what I heard from my friends who climbed to the apex. Not bad for Boston, though!

If you ever make your way to this monument, definitely take the time and energy to climb the 294 steps to the top. You will not be disappointed from the incredible views of the city you will get to experience. Now a word to the wise, if you are claustrophobic or not in semi-decent shape, unfortunately this is not the activity you want to take part in because you will probably freak the .... out. Other than that enjoy, and keep on exploring.

The Bunker Hill monument is a longish but pleasant walk from Faneuil Hall. The views from atop the monument are spectacular and worth walking up the 275+ stairs.

Another great stop on the Freedom Trail. The monument is near the ships and a short walk. Follow the red line. You have a good view of the the lovely homes in the area. Very safe and clean. I was not able to walk up, as we arrived too late. I can only imagine what the top view is like. There is a musuem across the street, at the base of the stairs.
