Bunker Hill is rich in history and boasts a view second to none on a clear day. You do have to climb 296 steps to get to the top. It is worth it! This attraction will not take very long. It will probably take two hours at the most. Definitely put on your list.

Bunker Hill was a surprise when you see the size of it. The area is small to realize what occurred here. The monument has Almost 300 stairs but the view is worth each step. On a hot day, be prepared to sweat a bit though. It is rather limited in space at the top too. There is a free museum across the street that is interesting and it has a souvenir shop and restrooms. The homes around this area are beautiful as well. Nice area to stop and have a picnic lunch if you came prepared or purchase something in the area and sit under a tree.

The site is a must if your visiting historic sites in Boston. The neighborhood was quiet and one of the most picturesque in Boston. The visitor center across the street was convenient for information and restroom facilities. I didn't realize until later how old the actual monument was, predating the Washington Monument in D.C. . I enjoyed the site but not so much the climb. I know this is subjective, but didn't think the views warranted the difficult climb in a very hot and tight staircase.

I thought the grounds and monument itself were beautiful. Yes there were a lot of steps but it's not like you weren't told time and time again that there were a lot of steps. Small up top but everyone was courteous and had great views!

Bunker Hill on the freedom trail was a fun visit. Great little area and if you haven't Ben to the Washington memorial, it's an easy climb look alike. From the 294th step views of the city are beautiful.
